Nick_Micouris 0 Posted June 7, 2004 I have just noticed that the main beam (headlights only - not rears) is on permanently!! With the headlight switch in the off position or even removed!! So it can't be the switch. Any ideas what I can do?I have an aftermarket loom that has been fitted for about 8 months. Is there a prob with the loom? As I say it is only the fronts and they must be draining directly from the batt! I have no idea how this happened tbh! Hope I can get some guidance asap - cheers! :)
Henny 0 Posted June 7, 2004 sounds like one of the relays in the aftermarket loom has stuck on... give it a "gentle tap" and see if that cures it... ;)
h100vw 0 Posted June 7, 2004 In case anyone else experiences this Henny is right, tap the relays. Sometimes the contacts fuse themselves together, the tap breaks the joint and the relay usually operates normally afterwards. No need for replacement. edit> no need for replacement, usually. Nick_Micouris 0 Posted June 7, 2004 Thanks guys - yeah the tapping kind of worked but it flicked back on again. Was quite melted! :( Thanks for sorting a replacement Gavin!
h100vw 0 Posted June 7, 2004 Nick, just wondering, maybe you have changed the bulbs but did a previous owner?? Gavin
