E2-SAW 0 Posted February 2, 2015 Tarox are still on the go yes, but the discs are over double the cost of the EBC's. Probably a good reason for that, but the cost of the EBC's and knowing they work good are drawing us towards them as a starting point. Two jobs were done at the weekend. Heaters refitted, and also track wheels fitted. Much better fitment. Tracking needs done unless its the balancing thats out. Got to dark afterwards so the pics i took later were rubbish after it was washed. Wheels are 16x7 et25 Compomotive MO's. I've got some Dunlop track tyres we will fit to them later on in the year once we've tried it out with the Yoko's are worn down. Next job - decat as the is currently blowing at the join, and the car is too quiet. Upgraded discs and pads and a rear brake bias valve as the one fitted just now is seized. Also look into lowering the seat position as its a little too high at present. Custom mounts will probably be the best way forward for this. Another bonus was finding the car has braided brake lines already fitted all round, another job off the list for this month.

E2-SAW 0 Posted February 2, 2015 Thanks guys. I've always said a set of alloys determines the look of a car, and yet again I'm not disappointed, the car looks a whole lot better with the MO's. Not brand new but have been very well kept. Very clean wheels, probably one of the best sets iv bought preowned.
E2-SAW 0 Posted February 27, 2015 After the wheels came some track prep as we have our first outing tomorrow afternoon on the Track Scotland track day. The seats are now custom mounted and we changed them for a pair pair of Cobra Suzukas. In time we'll also change the blue material for black. At the same time we had 4-point Takata Harnesses fitted. Much more comfortable all together and more useable. The Momo Team 280 was swapped for an OMP Targa 330mm Suede number. Some roll cage padding was then fitted also. Brakes upgraded from standard discs and pads to Brembo Max discs and EBC Yellow Stuff pads. Feel good after some aggressive road driving but the real test will be on Saturday after some laps. The car also received some maintenance in the rear bias valve spring being repaired as it was jammed, the brake fluid was changed in its entirety, and an oil leak was sourced and repaired where the temp sensors etc go in. On top of this, a decat was fitted to give the car a bit more noise and it sounds excellent now. Also feels a bit better to drive. It was the round to Dougie @ Trix to have the arches rolled as the wheels were catching slightly, and a racker suns trip fitted as well. Another purchase we've made but not had time to have done before Saturday is a CCM gearbox with a Peloquin LSD fitted. We'll look into that being fitted next month before its next track day. I 'think' we are now ready for tomorrow. See how we get on i suppose. Hopefully the weather is a bit better than when i took the pics yesterday lol
HummuH 10 Posted February 27, 2015 Looking really nice mate, looking forward to seeing it out tomorrow. On the compensator, keep an eye on it. In my first season I had issues with it, basically you don't want it working as it is intended to work as it will put too much pressure to the rears and you'll lock them easily. Get a cable tie and secure it. Go out and test. Keep tightening it until you get to the point where you're happy with how the rears act under heavy braking, into hairpin is best place to test. I have now ditched mine altogether and installed a dual-line brake bias. Might not be an issue for you but if you feel the braking is a bit unsettled do the above. coullstar 0 Posted February 27, 2015 Looks ace. If I keep mine Im going to look about getting more trackdays done. As you say Knockhill will certainly test your brakes. Have fun!!
E2-SAW 0 Posted February 27, 2015 Cheers lads. The brakes were really bad prior, much much better now. Will see what its like tomorrow and take it from there. HummuH i take it you won't be on track yourself? Will need to pick your brain about a few things as well about the car. See you tomorrow.

Yeah, my car's still in bodyshop but we'll be up with the Mustang, pop over or I'll look you out at some point.
E2-SAW 0 Posted February 28, 2015 Car was faultless today. Very good session with it but seriously need to look into gearbox options. Couldn't get above 100mph or into 4th gear, and the change over between 2nd and 3rd isn't ideal for coming out of some of the corners.
E2-SAW 0 Posted February 28, 2015 Mark, very good to meet you. Great getting a chat with you. No doubt see you at a few more later in the year.
E2-SAW 0 Posted March 15, 2015 Few pics of it on track Now in garage for a 2.3 V5 FBK gearbox fitment with a Peloquin LSD, mid box removed from the exhaust and stickier tyres. new gearbox has same ratios but a 3.9 FD rather than 3.3 - will help us loads on the corners in 3rd gear and should get us well into 4th on the straights. Next track day 3rd April

E2-SAW 0 Posted May 12, 2015 Hi guys. So my mate and I went on our merry way towards Spa and Nurbirgring for our double track day. All was going well until 720 miles just outside spa, the driveshaft decided to come undone form the gearbox just outside Liege. We got a new driveshaft next day and fired it on, thought we were in the jackpot, but the cup for the gearbox has also pulled out a bit and appears to have burst the gearbox oil seal. gearbox oil ****ing everywhere. My mate and I are defeated with the car, and have copped a bit of a bill getting the car back to Uk. So are looking to sell We are contemplating whether to try and sell as a whole needing repaired or even partially repaired, or whether to strip the car for parts and break it. From the initial page it has a large spec, it also now has AD08R tyres fitted to the 5 Comp MO alloy wheels, a Pelequin LSD, short ratio gearbox (althugh 1st gear isn't very good) and a few other bits and bobs we have repaired on the car. To sell as a whole - we'd probably be asking around the £3800 mark, as this is where we value the car to be. In parts its probably worth around the same if not more . What are your thoughts? I will post up some pictures of the car as it is in a minute or two Cheers Steve
