Teddylfc 10 Posted April 27, 2015 Hi all Sorry if this has been posted before but wondering if I could get some advice. I have had my central locking looked at by my mate (an auto electrician) and he tells me my pump in the boot is not working correctly. It is not the original and prob saved at a scrapers. So I need to buy a new one. So is there any other options ie golf me 3 etc Can I still get lucky n buy a new own or any of you got anywhere you recommend to buy one from. I don't want to get unlucky and buy a used one only for that to be a dude from some dodgy person. Any help would be great Cheers Teddy
science 0 Posted April 28, 2015 I think there a couple of different types. If you don't have the original pump have a look at the connector plug. I have a spare with the part number is 357 962 257. The body has 10 pins. And the plug only uses 9. The connector is physically different to the one on my car. See pics; If it's right I'll post it for £15. Teddylfc 10 Posted April 28, 2015 Hi Thanks for the help. I will check tomo night if that's ok and if it's correct then that's fine. Obvious question but I take it yours in full working order (sorry but got to check ay) Thanks I does look the same. Mine is kinda working but my auto electrician mate says it's not sending the right signals out as all the doors and locking works with this special tool he has got Ta pal
Teddylfc 10 Posted April 29, 2015 Hi Just got home from work mate. To late (and knackered) to check tonight. I will do ASAP. If you sell it before I get chance to look I understand. Thanks pal
science 0 Posted April 29, 2015 (edited) No hurry I'm not trying to sell it elsewhere, it's just a spare. I bought it thinking I needed a pump but it turned out to be a wiring fault. It was bought it good faith that it works but it doesn't fit my car. I have different type of plug connector like this... ... Note the two tabs on the upmost side of the plug.
