andygal 0 Posted May 13, 2015 Hi All, Sorry for another water in the footwell post….I have had a good search and it doesn’t appear to be any of the usual suspects. The car had been sitting for about 6 weeks on a slight slope (back lower than the front) and when I returned to it, found some water in the driver’s side footwell. It appears as if it has run down the windscreen, into the bulkhead area where the picture is of below and then found its way into the cabin as the carpet below the pedals was damp too. All of the sunroof drains are clear, new door membranes etc so that rules the obvious things out. Question is – I can see one of the drains in the bulkhead (just below and to the left of the bonnet hinge in the picture below) but is there another one? If the car is on a slope, I can’t see where the water would drain out when it runs back the way? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Andy
VW_OwneR_85 2 Posted May 13, 2015 (edited) you have that exact drain on the passenger side aswell, other then that theres no other scuttle tray drain, if you trace your throttle cable back it could maybe come in through there, ideally you want to remove the seats {5min job}and pull the carpet back and let it all dry out otherwise it will stay damp for ages, damp, mold, smell etc etc not nice. maybe pull the carpets back and get a hose and get some one to hose it whilst your inside and see if you can identify where its comming in, the normal corrado leak is on the passenger side where the inlet for the heater blower is, theres a gasket which needs replacing, it also a possibility that its leaking from the windscreen because of corrosion under the adhesive Edited May 13, 2015 by VW_OwneR_85
