Ignition timing for good MPG

Recommended Posts

Can anyone quickly give me an ignition timing for good mpg on a 93 2l 16v 9a? Also is it correct that advancing the ignition slightly gives more power in the higher rev range?

Thanks in 'advance'...

It should be as spec, 6 or 7 deg btdc, the knock sensor will only wind if back otherwise, an ignition curve remap on a rolling road can eek a bit more out at the top end but is done with fuelling to match.
