Plastic/Metal Valve cover

Recommended Posts

So..

Could a plastic valve cover on a VR6 keep the temp lower inside a enginebay and not act like a heatsinkt?

I have a metal valve cover, and I have heard that the plastic one will not heat up the manifold as much.

Is it worth doing?

There is some logic there I suppose, maybe that's why VW went in that direction?

Let me know if you need a plastic cover the try

Why im asking is because Im getting the VSR manifold fitted... and going to add Phenolic gaskets, and was thinking about this I heard years ago but cant find any facts that it does anything for the heat.
