Alternator pulley...

Recommended Posts

Just about to replace my alternator and noticed the pulley on my new one is slightly smaller than my old one. I am thinking I can simply adjust and take up the bit of extra slack? Am I right in thinking this or should I not even try? The alternator bodies and fixings are identical, just the pulley is a little smaller.

Thanks in advance!

ended up transplanting the old pulley onto the new alternator. I noticed the new one was about 5mm longer in the shaft so would not have lined up straight. Was a little tricky to get the pulley off, same as suspension top mounts with alen key through the socket.
