94D16V 0 Posted April 30, 2003 Interloper here, my wife's the owner but as an occasional driver I find the car incredibly hot. It's as if the heater was on all the time, is this normal with 16Vs, or does she have a problem somewhere?
chuck 0 Posted April 30, 2003 I'm really just guessing here, but if yours is a 94 model (sig?) it'll have the dial controls. These can corrode and stick. Maybe, maybe it could be that the heater control has broken, and the heater is set to hot? Just a thought? No, its not normal btw, though they can take some time to cool when you turn it from hot to cold.
94D16V 0 Posted April 30, 2003 Thanks for that, but I find it hot even when the heater hasn't even been put on, the dials work OK, cos when you put the heat up it's like a sauna. Just thought it might be a characteristic of the car, as the dealer couldn't find a problem.
chuck 0 Posted April 30, 2003 Is it actually blowing warm air even when set to cold? If not, it might just be that the C (in my experience anyway) doesn't have the best ventilation of any car I've driven. Though I've yet to be too hot in it - but i always keep the fan set on 1. I'd say theres definately a problem if the heater is set to cald, and its not blowing in cold outside air.
94D16V 0 Posted May 1, 2003 IMO the "problem" seems to have more to do with heat from the engine bay than from the heating/ventilation. That engine seems to run very hot particularly in summer, at least judging from how long the fan stays on after switching off. That's why I thought it might be a 16V characteristic. GazzaG60 0 Posted May 1, 2003 check the air way that the cold ait takes into the car. my sciricco blew warm/hot all the time, even on cold because i removed panels that seperate air. therefore my cold air is engine air
Blimey 0 Posted May 2, 2003 I have a '93 16v and it gets hot as well, it only really blows out cold (ish) air when I'm not driving around town. What does you water temp gauge read ususally?
