would always recommend taking a 2.8 block and bore up to 2.9 - this is what stealth did with mine when mine went in for new engine.

I bought a brand new 2.8 block and stealth are telling me its warped so not to use it again, a bit miffed with this, will see what he says when i ring him, will be taking the block back and having it all measured etc by an engineering company.

Indeed. I think the 2.9 may get turned into a table :)

i nearly brought a 928 bottom end a couple of years ago to do that very thing VAG but it would have been one heck of an expensive table lol
