daniboy1_2_3 0 Posted September 13, 2016 Hi, I've stripped out the headlining in my corrado as it was just about to fall off. While I'm in there I decided to try and get to the bottom of why the sunroof will only tilt and not slide. It feels quite tight to operate manually although I can't see anything amiss or broken. Since playing around with it the motor has stopped working altogether. Whether this is a symptom of a tight mechanism or not I'm not sure but probably. I've read that the mk3 golf motor is a good upgrade. Does anyone have a part number or know exactly which models I need to be getting one from? Is it just a straight swap or does anything else have to be changed?. I'd like to clean it all up but I'm loathe to take it all apart unless I can spot anything wrong, I'm tempted to just keep working it and give it a good grease. Are any parts still available that I should consider changing? If not then I guess there is no point in taking it apart anyway. Cheers
MZpog 10 Posted September 13, 2016 Drop a Passat B3/B4 glass roof in instead - I did and love the light it lets in the car. If you do strip/grease, then use the VW grease or Liqui Moly silicone grease (much cheaper)
daniboy1_2_3 0 Posted September 13, 2016 (edited) Hi there, thanks I'll get hold of some of that grease. I like the sound of that roof but just going to stick with original. Anyone know which motor I need? Edited September 13, 2016 by daniboy1_2_3
