GrizzlyBear 11 Posted March 31, 2017 After recently getting round to sorting out the sound system in the car, I have come across a couple of connectors that I can't seem to figure out what they do or where they go! Can anyone identify what these are for? Car is a '92 16v. Cheers guys. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
MZpog 10 Posted March 31, 2017 The brown one looks like the power side of car audio ISO connection.
delfinis38 1 Posted March 31, 2017 The brown one looks like the power side of car audio ISO connection. Similar but I think ISO are double row connectors. This looks like single row.
MZpog 10 Posted March 31, 2017 Similar but I think ISO are double row connectors. This looks like single row. I couldn't tell if it has 2 rows or not and guessed the wires would be live, switched live, illumination live and earth (Grizzly you may wish to check this). Brown connector is a single row, and it hangs down to the right of the steering wheel by the fuses. I've wired in the new stereo using the speaker loom and also what seems to be another power loom separate to this one. I have yet to test it yet though. Hope that all makes sense, sorry if I sound silly it's my first attempted at anything electrical on a car!
Philly-R6 0 Posted April 1, 2017 Here are my guesses: I can't see enough of the surrounding area from the picture, but could the brown connector be for the MFA switch? The MFA stalk has a flying lead (could be 4-pin) which connects to the loom on the side of the steering column (from memory, near to the ignition switch). The picture with the 3 fuses looks like original Scorpion alarm wiring (near the OBD data connector).

I will have a go later and update you of my findings. And you could also be right about the alarm system as my car has never had a functioning one. Thank you for the information!
