New VR6 Owner. Rear Spoiler not working at all. Help!

Recommended Posts

Hi guys,

I have just purchased a lovely 1993 VR6.

Being a g60 owner I thought I knew a great deal about the Corrado however the VR6 especially engine wise a whole new thing for me.

I never had trouble with the G60 spoiler.

Problem:

The spoiler doesn't work at all.

The under dash switch does nothing.

The spoiler doesn't work at speed.

I have checked the fuse and all is okay with that.

I have removed the rear panel to the mechanism and motor and the spoiler rises and lowers with the handle perfectly.

The blue wire behind the radio is on its own and insulated.

What do you suggest guy's

Thanks!

When I bought my vr, it was the same as yours. Once I took the under dash panel off, it became clear the control module was missing altogether. Bought one from someone on here, and the spoiler worked perfectly once the module was plugged in.

If the control Unit was faulty would this cause the switch and speed activation to cease operation completely.

Is the control module above the manual switch?

Also there is a wire hanging from the side of the fuse box, and another nearby which it looks it should connect to?

Anybody know what this may be?

Don't want to connect it in case anything goes wrong....

From what I recall, It's up behind the switch.

Problem Solved and spoiler is now functioning correctly.

Turns out that under the dash someone has spliced into the main loom and added a separate fuse holder for the spoiler control.

It had blown, someone placed a 10amp in there.

Added a 15 amp and all is good.

Oh and my abs light also comes on and goes out now
