g60 kev 0 Posted April 30, 2017 Hi all, I am reluctantly going to be selling my g60, which I have owned since may 31st 1995. The car is used daily and was reverted back to standard in 1995. Only selling because I have no room to store it. Two weeks after I bought the car the engine blew, it had been modified my naievity I didn't know it had been upgraded and buying from blackbush car auctions in surrey there was no comeback. After a lot phone calls and detective work I found the engine had a warranty on it, I therefore managed to get a new engine fitted by peter coopers vw dealer (still have receipt. The car was then taken to BBR Racing in Banbury to get modified back to standard. In the 22 years I have owned the the car it has had 3 prangs. 1. minor shunt in the rear. 2. drivers side door prang and 3. drivers side wing. You are now asking why it's so cheap,it needs some loving care on the bodywork and interior. The drivers wing has gone rusty and needs replacing, a part respray is needed, laquer is peeling off the bonnet, and scrathes here and there.and passenger's door ,the seals have had some welding and still need grinding smooth and repraying. The interior is worn in parts the drivers seat is taped up where I get in and hit the side bolster. Passenger window not working at present and has dropped 1/4" inch. I gave the regulator a tap with a hammer and it worked for a year but stopped around last xmas. Sunroof goes up but does not retract. The supercharger has only needed rebuilding once in the time I have had it and that was back in 1999, have no troubles since then car is basically driven pretty conservative the days, I tend to wait till it gets to 90 deg before going over 3000 rpm. I will take some photos soon, car will be ready to go in a couple of weeks. Have lots of receipts, every mot certificate I think, present one runs out 11 jun 2017. I hope the old beast gets restored and gives the next owner 22 years of fun. If anyone on this site is interested let me know. Just north of Portsmouth. Hampshire.
