bigbob 0 Posted July 25, 2004 Hi guys, firstly, how many engine mounts does the 1800 16v corrado have ? secondly, how would i know if the any of them could do with replacing ? i have a feeling the front (nearest the grill) is a little worn, the engine has some movement there cheers Chris
RadoAds 0 Posted July 25, 2004 Leave the handbrake on tight mate, stick it into first and let the clutch out to the point just before stalling the car, have someone do this while your stood looking at the engine and note the movement on the block, any worn mounts will show by excessive lift in the block, then stick it in reverse and do the same, or you can just get under the car and check their condition
Roger Blassberg 0 Posted July 25, 2004 But please don't do both at the same time. I'm sorry if that sounds sarcastic, but people do funny things sometimes...... Best wishes RB
Henny 0 Posted July 25, 2004 there are 3 mounts. On on the front of the engine (the front engine mount) which is on a bracket which attaches to the gearbox via the bolts that hold the starter motor on and connects it to the front subframe On the gearbox at the rear (the gearbox mount) which is under a pair of brackets coming off the gearbox and attaches to the rear sub frame On the back of the engine (rear engine mount) which is under a big metal bracket bolted to the rear of the engine block and attaches to the rear subframe.
