Whistle noise on acceleration?! Ideas?

So I have a vr6 and was giving it some stick down a straight mile and it all sounded/felt perfect but.......later on in the drive before I got home I noticed a whistling noise when I accelerate .... Like a turbo type noise but obviously I don't have one.

 

It's quite subtle at the moment but I was wondering if anyone had any ideas?
