maff 10 Posted July 26, 2004 Hello all, New on this forum but have owned my corrado vr6 now for over 3 years and love the car, but can anyone help me on following problem? The car has always had a slow coolant leak which improved when i changed the rad as was knackered and was turning coolant brown but just lately when starting the car from cold she tends to run quite rough like its misfiring for about 20 secs but this only happens now and again. Im hoping this could be an electrical problem like rotor cap or leads maybe? as car has always pulled really well and never felt like it might be losing compression. Also my coolant is still slighty brown which i hope is my knackered oil cooler contaminating the water, the car has now done 136, 000 miles and never gets driven hard from cold , any help would much appreciated thanks.
vr6storm 0 Posted July 27, 2004 your poor starting could well just be the blue temp sender......£8-ish for a new one and less than 30 mins to fit..........
Roger Blassberg 0 Posted July 27, 2004 Are you keeping the coolant corrosion inhibitor concentration up to spec. when topping up your leaking system? That may have something to do with the brown colour. Use G11 (blue) or G12 (red) but don't mix them together; if you are unsure about which one is in there, flush it out completely and start again. There are many causes for leaks; look in the "Sticky" on this subject. Best wishes RB

Both G11 and G12 have been replaced by G12+ (which you can mix with either)
