iceman22 0 Posted August 1, 2004 hello can any 1 help me with this problem. i have a 92 k plate 2.0 16 v . the problem being the radiator fan comes on every time i switch of the ignition even if the engine is cold it stays on about 10 mins then it cuts out. this problem only started after the top radiator hose bursted , but i have since replaced the hose and the fault remains plz could any 1 assist me wiv this problem thanks in advance. Henny 0 Posted August 1, 2004 I'd say that you need to replace the radiator thermo switch... Probably went tits-up when the coolant blew out of the burst top hose... :| They're less than £15 from VAG or about £8 from Euro or GSF and are a doddle to fit. iceman22 0 Posted August 14, 2004 its not the radiator thermo switch mate because i checked it. it has to be a electrical fault or sumething because the fan turns itself on even if the engine is cold after the ignition is switched off every time its prob that big realay tht sits in the engine bay because when u disconnect the wires to it the fan cuts out any more ideas would be appreciated because its doing my head in thanks in advance.
