I've relocated my drivers door switch (early type)

wot do you think of this? I reckon it looks better 'in the flesh' than the photo too.

Much easier to use than the daft door card mounted position.

planning on putting the roof switch and passenger window switch in this location, doesn't look quite as good but location is not bad despite the gear lever. I saw someone else had put just the roof switch here which made me think could I squeeze two switches in the same position.

think I saw it before, just the single surround wasn't it? Did you dual the switch operation with the roof located one or simply replace it with the wiring to the gear lever located one? Was it difficult to run the feeds?

cheers,

David.

davidwort, Yep, it was single switch and surround. Decided against dualling the operation to prevent trouble in the unlikely event both switches got operated at same time. Switch in the roof is disconnected 'dummy', just attached new wiring from the loom in the roof down to the centre console, cut hole in gearshift surround, bonded switch surround in and away you go! No more looking like giving following drivers the finger when operating the sunroof. One minor thing was had to reverse the open-close connections from existing wiring to new switch otherwise the switch in the surround would appear upside down. Not enough room in the console to just turn switch around unfortunately.

Looks good where you've put the switches, as mentioned above though, what did you use to blank the door card holes?

ya I have a midrange right there in mine it looks nice, I would suggest putting the switch on the side of the center console, might look awkward but it keeps it hidden and kinda cooler.
