Gently pushing down on gas...

Recommended Posts

Gently pushing down on the gas my car feels and sounds like its about to die. If I push it harder right away it revs up. Goes away after a while, car is idling at around 750.

Dunno why it keeps doing that, anyone have any idea?

Had a similar problem with my injection engined car prior to the Corrado.

Felt like it was gonna die under gentle accelleration, but was ok with your foot hard to the floor.

Was a split in the air intake pipe.

Getting too much air for the feul mixture while not under full throttle.

May not be this at all in your case, but worth a quick check.

check your idle switch isn't jammed (either on or off) and that the vacuum hoses are all in good condition (especially the one from the throttle body to the ECU which needs to be 100cm long)

Also, swap the blue and black water temp sensor's wiring plugs over (blue onto black and black onto blue) and see if that helps. If it does, you need a new blue temp sensor... 8)

My Valver used to do that, feel almost like it was lerching or being held back then when the revs picked up it would take off, almost the same feeling as when a car is misfiring but obviously smoother being that it was firing on all four. this used to last for about five minutes when it was cold and although cant promise it is the same thing when i changed the ISV on mine the problem went the same day and hasn't come back.......yet!
