VR6 0 Posted December 23, 2002 noticed that sometimes when setting off there's a small squeak which is pretty undescribable other than a 'small squeak'! sounds a bit like it's a brake pad sticking or something ie it frees up once the car is moving - only ever notice it when starting from standstill. any ideas? Andi 2,147,483,647 Posted December 23, 2002 Where's it coming from, front or back? If back - could be a slightly sticky caliper... If front - have you fed the mouse that runs on the wheel in the engine bay yet? Maybe he wants some cheese. (No, I haven't been drinking - just couldn't think what to write for the fronts -) Does it do the same when starting off with the wheels turned? Or just straight? Is it all the time from stand-still - or just when the car is cold?
Jim 2 Posted December 23, 2002 I currently have the same that comes from the back from time to time.. especially if is cold / wet outside, and the car has been standing for some time. I think its a binding brake caliper..
VR6 0 Posted December 24, 2002 think it's from the front which I tend to think is a sticky calliper because the squeak goes away once I'm moving. any cause/fix for this?
