Clunk on full lock

My 92 G60 makes a clunking noise when on or almost on full lock. I'm thinking the CV joint is on the way out, or is it something else? Any help would be muchly appreciated as would an idea of the cost for new parts. Thanks :?

Try the wishbone mounts. Mine are on the way out (4 months old from ECP, hooray... :cry: - getting refund though...) and it's started to clonk a little. What about when you accelerate, can you feel any movement from the drivetrain?

Not really sure what you mean about movement from the drivetrain when accellerating. Could you possibly explain a bit more please? My front right disc is warped and figured that it might have caused premature wear on that side. New discs and pads arrivind today... woo hoo! How much were your wishbone mounts anyway? They sound as though they are not very good quality if they went after 4 months. My first Corrado and I've only had it 3 months so don't know much about them. This site has been a great well of knowledge.

Clunking with steering lock applied is typical symptom of CV on the way out. U can usually identify which one by putting on full lock one way & then the other. The wheel under load (outside of your turning circle) will be the noisy one.

Movement from the drivetrain wasn't the best description... When I brake, and when I then accelerate (only when I move away from standstill) I can feel that the rubber's disintegrating as it feels like the wheel moves slightly. It clonks slightly then, and more noticably when on full lock to get out of my drive. It did this before I changed the wishbones originally, stopped once the new ones were in, and now they're going again, it's started again. Makes the handling sloppy as well which isn't nice. Got some nice purple polyeurothane ones to go on though, which is nice... :)
