no the battery light goes off and stays off. i only use the car at weekends so it stands for 5 days unused but it only started draining like this after the alarm drained the battery completely. i have a new battery on the car but it still does not hold the charge more than 3 days. does the immobiliser light draw enough to do this and could i remove it to see if this improves the situation

i also have this problem on my vr6. it seems to have started after the alarm went off when i was on holiday could it be the alarm ? i have had it checked by an auto electritian and he said he could not find a problem, alternator punching its weight ( 14.9 ) no drain with everything switched off. i wonder if the alarm is causing the problem ? any more ideas ?

mine does this when the coolant level is low or is it my imagination ! every time it does it i top the water up and it fires up fine

i would like to point out that non abs brakes are still fully functioning ,millions of cars dont have and i think you may find a lot of them are very big expensive sports cars including F1 i just am not a big fan of abs. i also checked my old mot and it passed with the light not functioning so it was obviously a bent mot. i am in the process of getting it repaired starting with a new light ,HOW MUCH !!!
-
ok i will give it a go , but what about the light which does not operate at all? braking in the wet ? i thought these cars were made with brakes that dont lock up let alone stop you! seems to me abs is redundant anyway !
-
my abs does not operate , not a problem for me i dont like the stuff anyway ! but does anyone know the position concerning mot , will it fail coz of inoperative abs

i also ghanged the rad without removing anything but the battery. if you are just removing the fan its the easy bit. once the battery is off, if i remember correctly undo the screws holding the fan and then tilt the bottom of the housing back towards the engine drop the drivers side and bring the fan up past the battery space IT WILL GO just go gently !

ok i have reached the limit of my knowledge anyway

one more thing i considered changing to manual and was led to believe the ECU does need changing, anyone know for sure?
-
got my auto back seems fine , but i just picked up on this by chance . since the new box went in i have to make sure the gearstick ? is pushed hard forward before it will start probably needs slight adjustment or running in . but does this not point to the inhibitor switch being part of the selector which would go with the old autobox when it was changed and would not be a part on the manual , if you see what i mean , its just an observation really

you got it !!
