Hello, I would like to ask a question. I bought a Golf Rallye and it doesn't have power steering. I took the power steering pump out just to inspect it but did not see anything unusual so i put it back. What happened next surprised me! After i installed everything back put in the power steering fluid and started the car. It made an awful noise (i suspect it is pressurizing-taking the air out) , but all of a sudden the car had power steering! But after the air got out of the system and the noise stopped there was no power steering again. I would like to ask if anyone knows what the problem could be: the pump or the rack? I don't have the car here to do more test , but still wanted to ask for your opinion!
