Thermostat is new and working, both radiator hoses are getting warm. Coolant temp increases regardless off fans. I've now found out the third outlet is for the feed for the original 24v aux pump and it needs to be blocked off. So I'll plug that and see if that sorts it.

Hi all, I've got a 99% complete 24v swap in my VR. I've plumbed it up using the VR6 stat housing, radiator and hose set up. Coolant is circulating back to the coolant reservoir and it's been well bled of any air yet it won't cool down. I've got two spal fans on my rad, they cool it adequately enough however the coolant doesn't then go from the rad back round the engine. The only difference in the plumbing on this compared to the original VR is the the VR has to outlets on the front of the block that both go to the oil cooler. This 24v lump has 3 outlets so I've joined two together for now. I think this could be causing the issue. Keen to hear any feedback.

Afternoon all, I've finally saved up enough money for a turbo kit for my VR just wondering if anyone was running a turbo kit from BBM. If so what are they like? Cheers Sent from my Nexus 5X using Tapatalk

Hi all I need to drill out a snapped screw and retap the holes on the black plastic part of the spoiler assembly. How do I go about disconnecting the hose/pipe from it? Sent from my Nexus 5X using Tapatalk

Hi all I'm looking at putting my MK2 back on the road next month and want to sort out the cooling situation. Currently I've just got stage 3 on the fans wired up to a switch on the dash and that's it. It works fine at keeping the car cool but its always in the back off my head worrying about the temps in traffic in case I forget to switch them on. Is there a way to wire the VR fans up properly so they come on automatically as they should save me worrying whenever I hit traffic. Is it just a case of buying a VR fan loom then wiring it up? Thought I'd try here before buying one off the bay as I know some of you have a myriad of VW parts and I'd rather buy off a forum member if possible. After a ASD 02a box for my 20VT golf the ABF box is a bit too short for my liking so that'll be up for sale soon if anyone wants it. Cheers Sent from my Nexus 5X using Tapatalk

Got this week off so told myself I wasn't going to do anything else until I've finished the VR so finished prepping it and reprimed it as I had rubbed through a fair few parts of it getting rid of little scratches that it had acquired whilst being parked up. Aiming to sand the primer tomorrow and paint Friday/Saturday. Though I am having second thoughts about the colour change as I'm not doing inside of the boot so it would look a sight in my opinion so might just stick with Classic Green but still undecided. New brake pedal switch fitted and also got round to fitting my silicone water hoses all's well. Or so it seemed now I've no sidelights (front or back) and no backlit dash. Still got headlights and main beam though. Fuses all checked so looks to be another wiring niggle. Sent from my Nexus 5X using Tapatalk

Took me about 6 months but I finally painted the wheel I took off earlier this year. Chose Ford Moondust silver as it's a bit more shiny shiny than the OEM silver. This was the worst wheel on the car so it's not perfect but a vast improvement over its previous condition. Give me another 18 months and no doubt I'll have done the other 3. Tip: traffic cones make great wheel stands Sent from my Nexus 5X using Tapatalk
