    G60 lag........

Hi all, found the problem! There is a small vaccuum hose goes from the inlet manifold to what I assume is a fuel pressure regulator of some sort. Although the hose looked intact it was in fact leaking air slightly. This seems to have solved the problem. So now its up for sale again! Cheers
  3. Hi all, okey doke, have a G60 that seems to have started underfueling all of a sudden. I have a kind of 'lag ' appeared on acceleration. This seems to be linked to it running lean - I have a fuel air mixture guage plumbed into the sensor on the exhaust along with a boost guage & the kick appears at the same time as the fuel richens up, b4 if I put me foot down the fuel air meter went straight into the green area in the middle, now it shows nothing for a second or 2 before jumping to green & the acceleration kicking in. Did this when I first got it & I unplugged & cleaned all the sensors on the engine this time it hasnt helped. So which one would cause these symptoms? I think shes playing because shes up for sale & doesnt want to go...... ;-) cheers
  4. Hi all, dont think I have posted this up here b4 if I have apologies. it has been in my mind for a while. I am trying to put the finishing touches to my VR6 Mk1 Scirocco & have come to the heater. On Corrado's etc the heater works different to a rocco The water always travels round the circuit & the heater control changes the air direction rather than the water flow, rather than on a rocco there is a valve controlled by the heater slider that reduces / cuts off the water flow (the plumbing is made for this) So on the VR6 I can't slow the water flow down to the scirocco matrix in the normal fashion as since the engine is designed to have this flow I assume it would be not good! So I was thinking (carefull!) I wonder if there is some car out there that has a T or Y valve fo the water. So as you move the valve it changes the wayer flow. that way I can (with the use of one way valves from a 16v) use this to bypass the matrix. Anyone know of how this has ben done before with Vr6's into Mk1 Golfs etc? Or have any ideas. All thoughts appreciated. cheers

Have a look on the Scirocco Register forum, most of these q's have been answered ther. cheers
  6. Thanks for that - will do. any advice from anyone thats done it?
  7. Hi all I have a VW which utilises 2.9 VR6 engine gearbox & linkage. Ok so it aint a Corrado but since I still have a corrado as well & it uses the same bits thought you might help? Its a bit stick in a bucket.... So I wish to tighten it up, and shorten the shift, as I have to lengthen the gearlever to make it more accesable which of course will amplify any movement. On me old Scirocco's it was easy a simple bracket to shorten the shift & a bush kit for the linkage. Had a look at this & it doesnt seem so obvious. Are there similar kits for these? Hope you can help.. Mike ps selling me h Reg G60 soon anyone interested mail me for more......

  9. Hmm right Now to sit upside down in the footwell of me car & try & work it out! Wondered about the speed as i gather europe ones are different. . I thought the c was the only car with a spoiler like this - until I was behind a 3000 GT I think it was - cant remember now, and all of a sudden I blinked & thought - hang on - that spoilers lower? Until it went up again a bit farther down the road when speed picked up & up it went! The difference? It was almost instant - a blink & u missed it thing. I'll be back tomorrow night after I have a look tomorrow - wilth news! ttfn
  10. HMM. will see what I can make of it all - getting a bit too much for me ole noggin! Must learn to spell, Japser???? hmm.
  11. ah yes - Just noticed me self! Dunno really - certainly got it running better over time with tinkering. No Doubt. But having never driven another G60 can't compare... All I know is that I occasionally think - hmm it's not so fast is it? Until I look at the speedo or the corner I am approaching appears to be coming up rather fast & then think - hmm mebbe it is then! You have to remember I am a Scirocco freak - always have been - especially Mk1's, so very seat of the pants non modern driving. Not quite so rmoved from the speed you are doing as in a Corrado. Never touched or went into the chip side of things. Dont even know if the chip that is supposed to be in is - I have built loads od roccos's but they dont have things like chips - so dont mess with what you dont know! Unfortunately though gonna have to sell. I have a Mk1 GLS in bits with a 16v engine & 45's waiting to go in it. A GTS wating to be played with and no time. While I have the G60 I am not gonna find the inclination either. If I am having to use me old Escort Diesel van then I may make the time ;-) bit of a quick chnage of subject but what are they worth currently? I paid £2400 I believe just b4 I last spoke to you. Must say though this spoiler thngy is getting up me tits! Birmigham eh. The home of japser Carrott. You'l be in the minority race down there then. Or is that a racist - small minded yourkshire thing to say. sorry!
  12. wires loose - yup loads! Lots of ends. & little blocks with nothing coming out - a real rats nest. Will have a look at the digrames & digest - but bearing in mind it appears I occasionaly have spelling probs - dunno how much succes I'll have ;-) cheers
  13. hmm. the problem happened to me when I removed the shelf and the fusebox slighlty to sort some wiring out. It stopped then. I then went back in fiddled about & it started - yeah hey. Only for it to stop again the next day. Boo. So I must disturbed something ddown there. SOMONE MUST Know? All we need to know is what we are lookingfor here. Hep anyone???????????????? :( will have another dig wednesday. cheers
  14. pretty much where I was! The only thing you haven't mentioned and is mentioned on the forum is the speed sensor which is somewhere on the bacl okf the instrument cluster? Dunno what this looks like or if is is a seperate bit or part of the cluster. the only bit of info I have uip to now was in an e-mail that went as follows: ""Apparently it is probably caused by a loose connection under the dashboard. The connection is not on the speedo but an inline connection block round in shape."" ?? :?: cheers
  15. Yup! :( I have read thru all the various topics in the forum covering this & no-one REALLY answers mentions of a wire behind the stereo (this wasn't touched when it stopped) and also the speed sensor on the back of the dash. But no mention of what this sensor looks like or where it is. Someone must know??????? Cheers oh - my other cars are a mk1 GLS in bits a mk11 GTS in bits & a beige escort diesel van!
