im still having problems with my VR6, it's getting depressing now. stuck driving a 1.1 Polo fox. I dont know whats wrong with it now, I have fixed the problem of getting power to My ECU but now, since I had half the wiring loom out I have lost my trigger from the ECU to the coil. checked the continuity of the wire and it's whole, and it is a deadwire when the ignition is off and then earths , when the ignition is turned on and the ecu turns the fuel pump on to prime the system, so the ecu appears to be working but im 100% sure, is there anyway to check ? just wondering is it the Engine Speed Sensor That Tells the Motronic ECU When to trigger the coil to induce a spark ?
-
Right, im getting somewhere now. I have got power back to my ECU. MAF Sensor, Injector's , HES. EVAP etc... But im not getting a trigger to my coil, from my ECU. the wire is intact but the ECU isnt triggering the coil at all. it is turning on the fuel pump, etc... but isnt breaking the earth contact to induce a spark.

I have a K Reg, Golf VR6, Engine Code AAA The ECU I have got is from a 97 VR6 dont really know anything else about it. besides that. My ECU relay has definately burnt out, trying to resolder it seeing if it will work again, but i think i may of damaged my ECU with that bloody powerprobe.

Thanks, im just still trying to sort out this whole ECU problem, I was using a power probe, and i think it was leading me up the garden path. I have now since ditched it. and am hopefully getting somewhere, I do have another question I have got a shot of another ECU To try but it's from a 97 Golf, and im a 92. K Reg, and im not sure if it will work in my car ?

Is there anyway to test a MAF Sensor with a voltmeter ?
-
Cheer's for that, RW1. I have been away for a few days camping, just got back. so didnt get a chance to check a PC. Hope i can get to the bottom of this somehow.

Well The Engine Wiring Loom, was falling to peices anyway, So I decided to rip most of out out and rewrap it toaday, Nightmare job imo! The Wire im on about from the ECU Relay, also splits up and powers a few different things. so when pulling the lume out I disocnnected the 42 pin plug on the righthand side of the cylnder head. When I unplugged it, the wire stopped earthing, I checked the whole wire up untill it went underneath the inlet manifold, where I couldnt check anymore, so took the inlet off to get at the injectors, i unplugged the whole injector harness, all and plugged them back in and my wire has stopped earthing, I did put a voltmeter across the injectors and I was getting simmalar readings of around 0.03a there wasnt a odd one or anything, im still stumped though, could one of my injectors gone faulty, causing the feed to them to earth, ? i cant see anywhere that the wire has rubbed through, i still have it all in bit's and im not keen on putting manifold back on untill i can say for sure what the fault was, anyone got some more thoughts, im pretty confident now that all my relays, power to the ECU etc.. is all working.

Well, the book is saying that there is a ECM Relay, which is number 3 in the fusebox, and that it goes straight to pin 23 on the ECU which would be right, however this same relay does have another wire from the pin 85 to the ECU also, to pin 9 on the ECU, not sure what pin 9 is though so maby if im not also powering this pin 9 it is disagreeing with me, i really need to try and check the coninuity of this red/blue wire

I have a corrado bently i wonder if it does the VR6, will install it and have a look.

Tried that relay and other ones, ended up cutting the IGN feed wire to the ECU and powering it direct, the ECU is turning on all the relays like the fuel pump, but it's still not running, it did offer but just cut out again, am really a bit stuck now. would like a wiring diagram, can anyone help me out ?

A few days ago, a mate had a shot of my K Reg, 92 Golf, VR6, he said he was reverse parking it and stalled it, then it wouldnt restart. I Have traced it back, and it seems the power to my ECU, has been cutoff, Pin 28 Which should be a ign feed just earths all the time. Since haynes dont make a manual on the VR6, im stuggiling a bit with wiring digrams and such and have no idea where the wire gets it's power from I have tried hauling out relays and the plugs in back of ignition but whatever I do this wire still earths, I have heard about a thing called a inertia switch but cant find one wondering if something simple like that could be the problem ? any information anyone can give would be greatly appriciated.

i really like the wheels you have. they look great I realise i will have to sacrafice handiling with a change of wheels, but it's just a question of how much im willing to sacrafice. How much is your car lowered approx ? I am hoping to have money for a set of billsteins after i get my wheels and tires sorted out. I would love to have my car slammed as low as possible on 8x17 it think it would look sweet. but i just cant resist opening it up on back roads.

Been looking around for a set of rims for my corrado. Just having some problems choosing. I Want Wide, and I Want Big, But. I dont want to ruin the performance and Handiling of the car and I dont want arch problems. Right now it's running on 7x15 BBS Rims with 195/55/15 Tyres. No Problems whatsoever. I Was thinking 8x17 Borbet T's But I think im going to get problems with them. I Just dont know what to do, can anyone give me some advice ?

Are Corrado Suspension Topmounts the same as a Mk2 Golf ? Mine are a bit shot Can Grab the Shockers and move them around fairly easily.

Well after welling up the downpipe and such got the exauhst in a half state of running without being burst and i was actually pretty happy with the performance of it. but so ran for a few days ok untill by backbox fell off for a second time and to be honest Ii have had enough now. I Need a Full System And Probably Including 4 branch manifold since i have to take that off anyway to get at the broken studs. so from everything i have read on here Magnex seems to be the way people are pointing me...but what about a manifold ? I know Milteck do the whole lot Manifold/system but have heard mixed oppinions from people over them but not really bad words about Magnex But cant seem to find a manifold from a magnex... Has Anyone got a fulll system including Manifold from Milteck/ Magnex or anyone else ... as long as it fits, and I mean properly fits, not like the crap thats on it at the moment. i want good fit, no rattiling or rubbing and i dont want it falling off! *cough* Sebring *cough* engines done 170k now, dosent seem to use oil so dont know if there is anypoint in putting on a manifold or not ? maby better with a new downpipe and a magnex System ? Can anyone who has been here before give me some advice ?
