  1. Thanks gents. Ok I'll get hold of my dad my and confirm! How/where should the timing be set...? Another mate told me there is a v cut into each little pulley. The main shaft faces up to the counter shaft pulley and that in turn faces out straight. Then when this is done you can fit cambelt....??? I'm just trying to picture this now...
  2. hmmmm... gosh it's very difficult to say, It's almost like a bit of knocking noise. I'll listen again when I get home and let you know. I just know that my old charger never made that noise.
  3. Hi there. My dad has just sorted out the
  4. Does anyone know if you get an equivalent or generic version on the Kluber Grease Nosol GBY 2
  5. Thanks a lot for the reply mate. I will what I can find locally here in South Africa... If i dont have any luck I'll contact you. Cheers.
  6. I'm from South Africa, I had an imported G60 motor in my golf mkII, the G60 never came out here. But my charger broke a few weeks ago, the little timing/cam belt broke on the charger at high revs. I eventyually got my hands on another G60 supercharger and want to put it in my golf as soon as possible as it was my every day car. But before I do I want to replace that superchargers little toothed timing belt, I've heard some guys change that little belt on the G60s to a 12mm belt, nice! And I also want to put a fresh coat of the special grease on the inside of the charger. Could you guys please give me some info/specs/part numbers on the little toothed timing belt & that grease so that I can try match it up locally here in South Africa... Thanks a mil. Regards Clayton
  7. sorry guys i just did another search on the forum about cams... read the first few posts, and posted my reply... almost the same as i posted a while ago, sorry. OK but is there a major difference between a naturally aspirated 8V cam and a G60 cam...? Thanks
  8. Sorry guys, i have asked this question on other posts... But here in South Africa there's not much info on the G60. Is it a special / different type of cam for the forced induction motor, or can a cam from a naturally aspirated motor be used... coz I've got a 268 reprofiled cam that i had in my old 1600 golf motor, and was wondering if it would work...? If do change the cam it go will a 68mm pulley and a dyno tune to remap my gotech fuel management system... Thanks

  10. What cam do you guys use in your 8v G60s? 11. Without changing to a different size belt, what would the smallest size pulley be that i could use with my same belt that i use on my standard pulley...? Thanks
  12. Cheers, thanks. It's a corrado G60 that i fitted in my mkII, so decided it would be easier to loose the power steering & aircon. I'm running a local after market fuel/ignition system called gotech. So if i do fit a smaller pulley of around 68mm I'll definately take it for a dyno tune. Do you reckon that should be alright...? Thanks
  13. You will need a 6pk1640 belt for a 68mm ribbed pulley. Give us a call if you get stuck sourcing one. Great, I'm also thinking about getting a smaller pulley, I'm currently running the standard pulley without aircon or power steering. Are there other mods that need to be done to run a 68mm pulley? Can the internals handle it or do I need to get the pistons & valves ceramic coated or something...? Another question, what is the smallest pulley i can use and keep my current belt...?
  14. Cheers thanks. I've got a 1800 8v G60 from a Corrado and have transplanted it into my golf mkII. The head has been ported, it has a cone filter and a front mount intercooler form a Merc ML something. Currently I have my old golf exhaust, which is a 4-1 branch & 50mm exhaust. So would you recommend going bigger like 58mm, or leave it at 50mm until I get more mods done...? Thanks
