Yer the looks like i had a few slates come down - onw has more or less put a hole in the bonnet which has impacted accross the bonnet (hence the new one needed) and another grazed my passenger door. They have made a bit of a mess of my bonnet - I suppose it could have been worse or even put windows through but i'm just gutted to look at it and not sure how or who is paying for the damage yet - as got a feeling i may have to fork out for it!!

Thanks for the replies - been to a number of bodyshops and they all saying that i need a new bonnet!! gutted as i as hoping it would at least be repairable. I spoke to a few bodyshops who claimed they think can get hold of one from VW but i am not so sure that they stock them anymore? Does anyone know if you can order a bonnet from VW and if not then any ideas on where i can get a bonnet from? is it going to have to be a bonnet from scrapper or similar?? Thanks

Thanks for the reply ill give them a try - Wilmslow is not too far from me. where abouts are they? any know of any more in the North West?

So in the meantime i am getting some quotes but I want to take it somewhere that is well know. Any help much appreciated,

Think i saw these for sale - 'rare' as the ad says, if it the same one - and yer i think they would look real nice on a lowered C - would love to see them on one
-
Thats what i saw and thats why i asked if it was a cheap one at the shop as ones from ECP are normally silver not black
-
I bought a new radiator today from ECP and before i bought it i asked the guy if they are the black copper ones and he assured me they are not and made by people who make the factory ones for VW. Got it home just looked at it and it is BLACK!!! cost me £115 (with discount) and got car booked in at garage to get it changed 2moz - and now i dont know what to do! as i would have got one from the stealers (more expensive) but they had none in stock and as ECP did then i bought from there. My question - Is this black one a load of cack and does n e one else have one on their VR? if so is it OK last longer then few months?? Opinions please........
-
Yep gonna get a new radiator and prob get one of those Neuspeed thermostat - ill call the stealers and ask how much for radiator - if not get one from ECP - cheers - just got to get the thing fitted then!

Supercharged - Thanks alot for your help and from others- bought all of the parts and changed it fine - thought it was OK until i again put my foot down a bit and checked after to find some water spray on my battery again.... Then let it cool took it for a run again and pulled over and lifted bonet and could see small amounts of steam around the back/top of the radiator when the bonnet was open so reved it a bit let it get warm again and then noticed a dripping of coolant on the floor...... :( One of the top bars that runs through the radiator appears to have a hole and a very fine water jet was spitting out on to bonet opener catch and dripping down on to the floor - it was making a hissing sound and lots of fine mist spray too. I guessing this means i need a new radiator?

Thanks alot thats great and I have just found it on ETKA too

Did find a post that someone had - put up some part numbers which i thought could have been these ones but i cannot for the life of me find it at the mo!!! I hava ETKA too but bot too hot at the searching it as yet! - as was gonna search the part numbers (if it is possible with it??.....) But yer i would also like part numbers if possible (have tried getting myself from ETKA but no joy........)

The Samco s have been on the car for a few years and not fitted by myself. But as long as I know the plastic elbow is easy enough to change then I shall get a new one with O ring ,a couple of new bolts and possibly new Jubilee clip for the hose. I take it from reply that it is possible to do without loosing too much coolant? (ill get the coolant on the list too just in case) Where would be the best place for the parts? Main stealer only?

Have had a quick search and found some info that was very useful but just need some clarification. Couple of weeks ago i notced a small amount of spray on my under my bonet that looked like it came from the right hand side of the radiator - all was well - fluid levels fine etc. Yesterday a small amount of steam was comming from my bonet front. I pulled over to investigate and it appeard something had splashed my battery (not loads of liquid) and also the top right hand corner of my bonnet - same area that looked sprayed last time. There appeared to be small amounts of water/steam comming from the top part of the radiator but there are no holes in my pipes or anything (Samco hoses) it looks like there could be some gasket or something on the top part of radiator that attaches to the pipe that may need replacing. My clean engine bay now has white spray on it (no jokes please  ) Here is a picture of the place the steam was comming from just where the black plastic pipe meets the radiator Can I buy a new gasket to replace it if there is one there??? and is it a hard job to do? Many thanks

Got an Insurance quote from Admiral online and after filling out all the usual stuff they ask, it calculated a quote of £688 fully comp - good price so i wrote it down. Thought I would check how much TPFT is so i changed the drop down box from Fullycomp to TPFT and was around £600 - ok Then selected back to fullycomp and my quote of £688 had gone up to £708 and there no way i can get my £688 back!!! even using back button going back to click 'Get Quote' or anything...... Didnt wanna try it again as it might just bang another £20 on! So just a bit of trial to see how much my other option was has cost me £20!! :( I couldnt believe it - and it is right as I first got a quote from Elephant (Admiral backed) and I thought the same thing happened there but didnt write the quote down so had no complete proof but the Admiral quote one def did go up as i made sure i noted the first price on the screen - try it if you dont believe me! On the plus side - Admiral, Elephant and Belldirect are by far the cheapest for me. Ill learn........ the £20 way
