1. I managed to find the spare key for the car yesterday and it clearly works in the lock but won't open the door. Anyone any ideas how I'm gonna get the door open when it can't be opened using the CL or the key? I have got most of the door card away to gain access to the door inner but it is very well shrouded by the inner metal skin of the door. Any help on this will be greatly appreciated. Mike
2. The actual rod coming off the drivers door vacuum unit is moving upwards when the CL is operated. The boot and pax door work fine no issue there with the CL. Ignition Key is different to the door handle key which I don't have so can't use that to open it.
3. Ok, guys I know this isn't a new post but ............................... The drivers door won't open on the CL, they key is different to the ignition, typical. I have managed to get the door card off partially to get at things although have incurred some damage to it as a result. I am assuming the door latch is seized as the vacuum pump is working, I have coated the inside of that area of the door with WD40 in an attempt to free up the latch and have done and undone the CL so many times and tried manipulating the door pull up it is getting thoroughly boring. If the door latch is siezed as it seems to be how the hell do I get the door open? Mike
4. Well got the PC3-11 cable to enable me to connect my Rockford Mono Amp and my Series 1 Rockford sub. And it rocks, panels are being shaken nicely. Next idea is possibly to fit a Bluetooth Car Kit to the Gamma, be we'll see. Mike
5. The wheels out of the box weigh 10.5 Kgs or 23 Ibs. Mike
6. Paul, should have some tomorrow or Monday at the latest. Can weigh them then, although my feeling is they're gonna be heavier than the far more expensive BBS wheels. Mike
7. Bristolbaron, They're only available in 5 stud I'm afraid. Kevhaywire, don't get me started. I've got 2 Brand New 312mm brake set ups here and have read the thread about fitting them to a 'C' and I'm trying to resist. Mike
8. They are listed on there as that. This is a mega silly forum offer for fellow Mk4 Golf and Corrado Owners. The inner end of the spokes is about 1.8 cms further in than the rim of the wheel. Glad you like the site, took 5 months of development, but Rome wasn't built in a day and all that. And now I've got my 'Rado I'll be scouring the globe for those illusive bits. :)
9. They don't have a dish as the 5 spokes run right out to the lip of the wheel. When I say 5mm spacers, basically they're 5mm 'Shims' I've had them for ages, should be able to get a pair for about £15 ish.
10. Just revised the images put up to give a better idea of them on the car. Alternate pictures can be taken on request. Mike VW Speed.co.uk
11. I've run out of the wheels from my stock due to the offer that's been running but they'll be arriving again soon or can be sent direct from the importer. As for the make, they're the same as all the rest and are made in Italy and imported into the UK. They are ET35 but as I found with mine I had to put 5mm spacers on the front to clear the calipers and I may well put some 5 mm spacers on the rear?
12. Cheers for the compliment. The tyres are Avon ZZ3 205/40/17
13. I hadn't seen that on eBay. Was gonna do it all myself, now know where to get the LEDs from, cheers guys.
14. "3 led's on the top illumination (direct replacement bulbs) and reverse the polarised filter and add a coloured filter for the lcd's " In English, does this mean, put in 3 LEDs add a blue filter to them and what is this about the polarised filter???? Mike
15. It's just the thought of taking out the pod, it was a pig on the Mk1 and I really don't fancy it, the colouring is the easy bit, it's the taking out of the pod that I'm not looking forward to.
