  1. Well I talked to G-Werks today and he said send it over and he will look at it. If it neads a rebuild he will do it and if not he wont charge anything. Cant ask for fairer than that. I will probably get a 68mm pully put on at the same time anway tho and as strange_one says "a stich in time". Aside from that the guy who found the Corrado for me is back from holidays tomorro so i am going to try to get some thruth out of him about whether the charger was reconditioned or not.
  2. Thats great h100vw thanks. I have found that its easier to ask first and learn from others mistakes when it comes to things like this. Anway ill make a few calls tomorro and ill see what ill do from there.
  3. :) Ah the good old christmas box for the postman! My wipers arrived today tho so cant complain. Ordered the ones on the group buy. Have to go to Walkinstown tomorro so thinkin of callin over to Otto in Terrinure to see if they have a throttle cable in stock. The one in it is a bit stiff. Any of you ever bought anythin from them they are supposed to be good. Half thinkin of Takin out the charger in the next day or two and gettin it on the way. Are there any dos or donts with regard to takin out the charger?
  4. Thanks Everyone the amount i have already learned from this site is incredible. I am based in Wicklow but in Dublin quite a bit so pretty local to some of you Irish lads. Dont think ill post it with the way things are with An Post at the moment, DHL or some of them might be a safer way to go.
  5. Yeah it might be a little wrong but you cant beat comin down a nice long entry ramp and unto a downhill section of dual carrageway. Also between readin the charger pressure and tryin to drive, i hold my hands up i guess i could have read it wrong too. :) Edit: Cheers Bix ill listen to it when i get a chance
  6. h100vw=> Yeah i put her to over 6000RPM (130mph in 4th gear what a car!) so pretty sure the pressure wasnt going to go much higher. Guess the pressure could be worse but it wouldnt be as good as i would have hoped from a supposedly reconditioned charger. :D You beat me to it Jim. It would be a bit far to travel, thinkin of taking it out and shipping it to G-werks. I dont really mind doing the charger if it needs doing. Kinda half expected to do it at some stage or another plus the car is really clean outside and in top condition so dont mind adding to it. Just dont want to end up with a blown charger. (can somebody pleast tell me what exactly happens the chargers? the seals go, the oil gets in so what happens next?)
  7. Right well i just got back from testin her. Results are not good. The Highest no. I got was 1560 That about confirms it i guess. :( Just Edit to ask: Should i stop driving it until i have had the supercharger checked?? or whats the next step?
  8. Hi all, I have just bought a v.clean G60 (1991 Inca Blue) really loving it. However: I bought it from a frend who deals a bit in older VWs and he told me that the Charger had been reconditioned at 80K there is now 96K on the clock so i thought i wouldnt have to worry bout gettin the charger done for another while. I am now starting to wonder if the charger was ever done, it definatly wasnt done at Jabba because i rang them and they said that there should be a number and a sticker on the charger if they had done it and there is no markings on the chager other than the factory serial no. Ther car is also using alot of Oil and when i opened the pipe from the charger to the Intercooler there was oil in it. So my Q is how do i know if the charger has been reconditioned? Is there any way of Knowing if the chargewr is on its last Legs? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
