  1. My 1.8 16v developed a nasty sounding rattle the other week :( so I booked it in to my local garage and they discoveed that one if the water pump pulley bolts had come lose. They tightened them and all was well..... until this weekend. I had a poke under the bonnet (no tools with me at the time) and the inner pulley (drives the alternator) could be moved side to side by 3-4mm. I have had a go at tightning up the bolts and they are all tight! what is going on????????? Help please Cheers Craig
  2. Morning all Another newby question for you. My Rado is running on 17's with 205/40/17's on its What tyre pressures should I run for normal driving? And what tyres do people recomend. At the minute its got Falkens all round and I'm pretty impressed but they are hard to find round by me. Cheers Craig
  3. Had a quick look last night and it has got what looks like an uprated loom (spades on the bulbs) so I'll try swaping ove the relays and see what happens.
  4. I have no idea, I'll have a look later. It wasn't advertised as having them, but then it wasn't advertised as being on coil overs either :-P
  5. I dorve my rado in the dark for the first time last night (i've only had it a week) and to my surprise, when I switched to main beam the world went dark! The blue LED comes on so I'm assuming that the switch is fine and as yet I haven't checked anything but I would be surprised if both bulbs had blown (but you never know) Any sugestions? Does the rados have a seperate bulb for main or is a a H4 dip/ main combined? Is there a seperate fuse for main beam? Could it be a relay? Cheers Craig
  6. You bet we was, it was a recon BMW supplied unit that was only a couple of years old and the chip invalidated the warantee. Gutted
  7. One of the lads I used to work with brough a cheap chip of ebay for his M5. It threw a rod a couple of months later  As tehy say, you gets what you pays for.
  8. Cheers for the info, I'm convinced it must be the temp sender as the oil temp is staying well below the indicated water temp. Talking to Paul (the last owner) he recons it always has done it and he thought it was normal! He also used to run it on 95 ron with no probs so I'll give it a whirl. Craig
  9. Hello all. I've just brought my first corrado (a 91 16v) and I've got a question. on the way back from collecting it the temp guage stayed at a constant 110 deg C! It made no diference if I was gently cruising around town or a steady 80 down the motorway. I checked the fan was working (it was). I checked this morning and the coolant is at max (looks as clean as you can tell from stock header tank :D ), the oil looks clean and there was no mess under the filler cap and it had driven fine yesterday. When I set off in it this morning (outside temp at 6 deg C), with in 30 sec's and 200 yards it was allready reading 90 deg C and after about 2 miles or so of town driving. I'm thinking that the temp sender is shafted. Any thoughts? Also the heater is kicking out hardly any heat. Is the valve thingy on the heater inlet the most likely fault (had the same issue in my old Mk2 golf gti) Last question, will the 1800 16v'srun ok on normal unleaded or do they have to run on super (as per the owners manual). Cheers Craig
