Hope I'm posting this in the right section. Following a small electrical fire!!! and a gearbox exchange from auto to manual, the ABS light is not working. Now we know the wire itself is dead, and just wanted to ask, rather than tracing the thing all the way round the car, can anyone tell me which wire on the 15 pin ABS ECU is for the ABS warning light? I know its a long shot and we've trawled the net, even the local VW dealership couldn't find a wiring diagram!! Ta

We really need some advice We are planning to convert an auto to manual. Hubby went and bought a N reg Passat VR6 on the advice of his mate a mechanic who has had a MK1 Golf show car so knows his VWs, (or should do!!). His advice was that the donor parts from the Passat would work for the Corrado. However after reading this thread I am not convinced, and now neither is he!! I don't want to sound thick but what it ETKA that is referred to that seems to list part numbers and where can we view this. Also, the fact that the two cars have a different engine code, the Passat is AAA and the Corrado is ABV I guess is not a good start!! If anyone can give us some advice it would be much appreciated. If needs be we'll stick a years ticket on the Passat and resell it, we'll get back what we paid, its just the time its wasting and the fact that all our money is now tied up in that!!

We have just bought a car with Brock B2s, 9s on the back and 7.5s on the front. The car is lowered 30mm front, 20mm rear. I can assure you that they rub the arches!!! They will need to be rolled. Don't know about off sets as they came with the car

The paperwork says 220bhp conversion, as I say he had it tested and it gave 240bhp but there's nothing to back this up. To be honest, we'd be happy with the 220! Would it be an AA inspection that would carry out that kind of check?

Also it's been through 9 MOTs since then, and has a current one, so surely it must be OK? Someone reassure me - I know it's a case of heart or head, and we both love this car.

Some of you may have seen this car advertised in the for sale section as the 3.2 VR6 Oettinger. We went to see it on Saturday, paid a deposit and are due to go back and get it next Saturday. Well here's a couple of concerns: Although we have the original paper work from Scotts, stating engine conversion to 220BHP, it does not state anywhere 3.2l. Also the log book states it is a 2.8. He had it rolling road tested recently and claims it put out 243bhp, although there is no print out of this. CDoes anyone know anything about the engine conversions done on the VR6 by Scotts? I did an HPI check on it to see if this threw up anythin re the engine size, which it didn't, but more worrying it states that is was an insurance write off in August 1997. As the car now has a private plate, it said that HPI will further investigate and contact us regarding it - does anyone know how long this might take. I'm mainly concerned as in 1997 the car would have been worth around 15kish, so would have had to have done a hell of a lot of damage to be a write off - wouldn't it? We did ask the guy at the time if it had ever been onvolved in a crash, he said not that he was aware of. He seems a really genuine guy and I've emailed him about all of this and he's also investigating the engine thing so I don't feel that anyones deliberately pulling the wool over our eyes, however it is a lot of money to pay if the car isn't right. On the plus side it looks and drives beautifully. It is an auto, but we will have it converted to a manual. The bottom line is, what are your views, do you think we shoudl walk away? The chances of us ever finding another one like this are next to nothing so I'm reluctant to leave it, but don't want to lose money in the long run, or buy a nail!! Cheers

Thanks for your help, off to find a 'friendly' MOTer

Does that mean that it will pass an MOT with no need to change wheels etc....if so it could save us a fortune, and the hassle and worry. Obviousley will still need to get them rolled, or my hubby mentioned something about bump stops? But I'm worried that will make the ride too hard and it isn't on coilovers.....yet Thanks

Thanks for your quick reply. Problem is, just having the arches rolled won't solve the problem I have with the wheels sticking out beyond the arch. Due to the inevitable cost involved, I want to make sure that whatever we decide to do is right. I'm just worried having not seen a corrado with arch extensions. Also if we went down this route we'd need to do front as well and put spacers on? Also if anyone has any recommendations for any where in the Midlands we'd be grateful

We've just bought a Corrado with Brock wheels on. Width is either 7.5 or 8 on the front and 9 on the back. Problem is, the car is lowered and the wheels are 16's, and not only do they currently catch just the inside of the lip of the arch, but they stick out about 1" from the arches on the back. My husband loves this, but I don't and the problem is the car needs MOT'ing in July, so what do we do, wack a smaller set on for the MOT, or can the arches be 'pulled' out, or would we need extensions fabricated? Also never seen a picture of a Corrado that has had the arches extended so any advice would be really appreciated. Thanks

Thanks, that's worked, I'm off to browse, cheers for your help with colour and website

[marq=right] I've tried finding the Corrado club and website using usual search engines, but the Corrado club page keeps failing. Do you have the current website address? Have found the VR6OC website, assume this isn' the same thing as?

Thanks for your super fast responses. I have to admit I did find one website which listed the twilight violet pearl effect as code C4T but the colour chip was much brighter. The car is quite a deep bluey purple so assumed it was wrong! Only just bought the car today, it is superb. It's the Oettinger 3.2 VR6 conversion that was listed on the for sale section. We've owner 3 x MK2 gtis and 3 x 1.8 16v Corrados previousley and feel really lucky to have found this car. Only thing is it's an automatic. It shifts, but we are thinking of having it converted to manual - would you guys recommend that we keep it as an automatic as it came out the factory, would the conversion affect it's future value?

Hi, just bought a Corrado, the paint code in the boot is LC4T, the colour on the log book is purple. I have tried an internet search but no joy yet? Any ideas, do you have the same code?
