Problem solved, wire doesn't do anything!! .Had the relay / fuse panel out whilst chasing something else and found a blue / white wire loose in the engine loom. Multimeter confirmed this was the same wire.

Hi Have just brought a new dizzy for my 91 G60. My old unit had a connector on the body with a blue / white wire connected to it. My new unit doesn't have this connector so the question is what is this for and what do I do with the blue / white wire ???
