Thanks for all the help you've been giving with my corrado. Was wondering how many of you were at the castle combe club gti inc the corrado OC meet. My grey 91 16v was there but didn't do the parade lap (had to get home) but was wondering if there had ben any photo's posted of the club and/or parade lap.

Thank you all. Need a complete built block really. I'll check out what price one from Vw might be, Thinking of a recon block and head to save on labour then straight swap using the accilaries from mine. It's been trailered to Raw engineering who make a Seven type Kit called the Striker who are friends of mine. Should be in good hands. It's gona getin the way f their usual work but I need my corrado back. A price from Bighands would be good to know though. 2.0 bottom end sounds interesting might keep looking for 1781 first though.

not so pronounced at low revs, but from 3000rpm onwards there is a loud rattle/ fast repetitve tapping. more so than a worn tappet sound. it's louder under load, but even light throttle at these rpms produces the same so i'm not sure that it's pinking. suggestions have been everything from cam chain is slack to piston slap! any ideas. did anyone find the sound clip of 'timing chain death rattle' after? many thanks. Neil

to find the right part on GSF or Eurocarparts. I couldn't find anything to match. It's a temperature sender for the cooling fan to come on after igntion off if engine temp is high

is there a correct name for this?? It's the one thats located off the back of the cam cover right next to the cam pulley

I'm gona order some new oil pressuer switches from GSF for my 1800 16v what are the pressure ranges ofr each one 0.3bar> ? 1.8 bar > ? Thanks

If there is no click from the starter motor then either the solenoid valve has seized (you may be able to free it with a gentle tap, but may stick again) Or the connections on the starter have a bad connection either in the starter itself or a bad connection going to it.Give the wires a wiggle to see if you can make a connection. Most likely though you'll have to replace the starter or just the solenoid if you are able to dissasemble it.

when oil temp gets to around 85c the first oil pressure buzzer is sounding. it stops when it switches to the higher rpm switch. The car has 10w40 semi synth oil and a recent oilchange which helped cooling. Was worried about the high temps. thought at first the oil was thinning at these higher temps causing reduced pressure. The cooling system seems to do it's job but as my water temp guage isn't working i cant be sure of what temps its getting to. the rad fan works fine and no water is being lost. Has any one had a similar problem. i've heard the oil pressure switches are a known problem??many thanks.

Not sure they would go to a relay. Fuse positions however are. Fuse 1 = H/light low beam, left. Fuse 2 = H/light low bem , Right Fuse 11 = H/light High beam, left Fuse 12 = H/light High beam, Right
