Hi, I'm new to this forum, having just bought a '90 16 valve corrado. I'm loving the car, but think the clutch release bearing is on the way out- theres a high pitched rattle/whine that stops when i push the clutch in. Anyway, my question is Can you replace the release bearing on its own- I've been told by a mechanic ( not my usual VW specialist as he sadly died- :( ) that the whole clutch has to be replaced.... Is this true, or is he trying it on?
