V-Dub

Hi all! Hopeing someone can help me out here. Am in the middle of re-building my G60 engine and now at the stage of re-assembly. I need a list of all the torque settings for re-fitting for the engine internals and other related parts. Unfortunatly i dont have the workshop manual so im hopeing one of you might?? Any help here much appreciated! :scratch: Cheers!

Was driving to work today and several times the oil warning light came on (91 1.8 16v btw). Have checked the oil level and it is bang on the top, am guessing that it is the oil pump that has gone. Does this sound right or is there anything else it could be?! :?

Sucess! Managed to get them in today. Used a 10mm threaded bar through the bushing and a huge socket on the other end, put a nut on each end and the tightened the nut behind the socket so that it pulled the bushing in. This seemed to work really well and took less than half an hour to do both! Would suggest this method if anyone else has to do it, is by far the cheapest and easiest option.

My rear axle bushing were very worn so removed the axle, managed to get the old bushing's out with a hammer and a big socket(almost broke my finger in the process!). having trouble getting the new one's in as i don't want to hammer them and cause damage. Anyone got any tips for getting them in? Was thinking a large bench vice would do the job, failing that i'll have to take the axle to VW and have them do it. Any advice would be good as time is an issue here!

Hi guys, bit of advice needed. Got a dodgy noise coming from the engine of my 1.8 16v, it sort of sounds sort of like a metalic rattle which only come's in at about 3500rpm but then goes away just after 4000rpm. Thought it might be a loose cam chain, does this sound right or am i way off??? p.s Anybody know where i can get a new bonnet release cable as mine just snapped!

Hi all! quick question. Is it possible to run a g60 gearbox on my 16v?? The diff on my 16v is on it's last legs but i have a g60 box is this possible or am i better off goin for an 8v box as the 16v box is near impossible to find!

Hi, hav a g60 engine and am looking to put it into a 16v. How hard is this to do, how much it gonna cost???? Cheers!
