  1. Thanks - I'm going try this tomorrow. Is it fairly obviously what needs to be levered to release the door catch? Did you do this with the seat in the car? Ta.
  2. Thanks Colin - I'll give it a go. I did buy some replacement door cards yesterday which I have as a fall back, but would rather keep the original ones if possible as the new ones aren't exactly the same material! I'll post when I've done it!
  3. I still can't open my passenger door. Previously I thought it was a central locking problem - but I think that is working. There is no tension on either the exterior handle or interior door release lever - so it feels like the rod may be broken. Having stripped the other door down I can't see anyway to get to the mechanism without removing the door card - and you've guessed it, can't see how to remove the door card with the door shut!!! It's been suggested to me that I need to hammer a screwdriver through the door skin! just below the door handle like a car thief!. Anyone know if this will give me access and leverage to open the door? and can you get armour(?) plates for the corrado that I could use to cover the damage? Any thoughts?
  4. Just rushed out in the rain to try this - but sadly no joy!
  5. Yes I've tried this but it wont unlock the door, it activates the central locking but doesn't seem to raise the pin far enough to unlock the door. Similarly I've tried pulling up the pin to open the door inside - still no joy!
  6. Will it be obvious what is broken - ie the latch? any tips on how to get the door card off with the door shut - how did you do it? Ta.
  7. My central locking won't unlock the passenger door. The pin rises about 2/3rds of the way up and then slowly sinks back down. I can't pull the pin up either to be able to open the door from the inside. Any ideas? - Is this a common fault?
  8. Mines a very tidy 16v in Dragon Green - a one owner low miles and bulk standard. I'm not going to do too much to it, need to put some decent music in it and I do think the wheels look a bit lost under the arches! Unfortunately!! the previous owner has recently put 4 new tyres on it! which lessens my arguements for changing the wheels right now!. First job will be to lavish it with Swissol.
  9. Thanks for the speedy response - exactly the sort of thing I was after.
  10. Had my Corrado a week! and want to start upgrading the sounds. Are there any guides on here how to remove the door cards to replace the front speakers. I don't want to break any clips etc... Thanx.
  11. I did have some overlap with cars! - but I didn't mention the Porsche 924, 924s, 944s or Audi TT! - oh and there was a Triumph Stag there somewhere too! I haven't been driving for 30 years yet!!
  12. Thought I'd just say "Hi" having taken delivery of my first ever Corrado last week. It's a dragon green 16v M reg - one owner 77K - I'm very pleased with it. I've always wanted one of these having had 13 Mk1 & 2 Scirocco's and at least 6 Golf GTI's - but a recent flow of company cars has meant I've missed out until now. Immediate plans are for some decent Hi-Fi and a good set of wheels to fill those arches out a bit. Oh and rude not to get the cambelt changed! Great site! - I'm sure I'll be on here a fair bit and look forward to some events!
