  1. Also while im at it will any of the 16v golf exhausts fit my corrado. as there a lot cheaper and a lot easyer to get hold of secondhand??
  2. how do i find the fault codes?? is it somthing i can do or do i have to have the car pluged in? still need some ideas i can try
  3. the plugs are blacked up and sooty just after 1 minute of running, iv had meetering head to bits and gave it a good blow out and clean with commpressed air. the spray pattern is good as you would expext from new injectors??? was thinking fuel filter near the tank could do with a change?
  4. hi need some help please, ive just fitted x4 new injectors to my engine, as the other 4 were toast. because the old injectors were running so bad for a while. it feels as if its over fueling and splutters at a stand still when i put the peddel down, this is a project car for me!! there is quite a big hole in the back box,i wanted to know if this had anything to do with it running bad ie back pressure. engine has had new plugs leads cap and arm., now im running out of ideas. could the isv be playing up?? any help would be greatfull :D :D

  6. hi can someone please tell me the way to go with carbs, im running a 9a engine. whats the best twin 40s or bike carbs do i need to change the tank? or pump? do i need to do anything to the ecu? :D :D
  7. yeah no probs, not sure weather to keep it black or go all out on it.its got a few bits of rust but body work is nothing to me as ive done prep work on bodys for last 8 years for father inlaw. its just getting it to run sweet! would the filter make it over fuel tho? as its chucking it in there well? any idea on carbs anyone?
  8. hi tried unpluging no joy it runs just the same. battery is good the engine takes a good 5/8 secs to turn over somtimes longer. i was thinking if the cold start was throwing to much fuel down the ports and making the plugs wet ie taking longer to start???? if al else fails im thinking of going carbs?? any ideas. also do any golf exhaust fit? thanks
  9. come on someone must know about these exhausts. not charntry but nacton!! have use of ATS ramps and my farther in law has a spray shop next door. was thinking about carbs but not sure how to go about it, would like to get rid of that injection system, i can get hold of some twin 40s, or should i go bike carbs?? as the car is running like a pile of pooh major over fueling coughs and splutters on tick over but i can rev through it. i want to go the hard hi reving 2.0 route. maybe a turbo when i can afford it.but not this year :D
  10. hi need some one to put me strait on this before i buy please. will a 1,8/2.0 16v or 8v golf exhaust fit my 2.0 16v corrado 92 9a engine. i dont mind a little tweaking or moving brackets ie welding. as i have use of ramps and all the gear, any help would be greatfull :D
  11. hi cant find a mixture screw. and were do i find the blance plate and adjust as this is all new to me!! was running a bit better today but still way over fueling. after a few mins of running took out all plugs. they were very black and sooty??
  12. hi im new here just looking for some help please got a rado witha 9a 2,0 16v has had water in injection system at some time and rusted the injectors, which have now been replaced. meetering head blown out and cleaned, new plugs and leads!!!! the car will take for ever to turn over on the key! but will start easy with a pull start. on tick over she runs very very lumpy like being on 3 cyl. but when reved over 4k sounds sweet and seems on 4cyl. when plus are removed they are soaken wet in fuel. any one help please :) need some help please brought a corrado really cheap!! but has a few problems, some how it got water in the meetreing head, which ruined the injectors. which i have replaced with new ones. the car ran for a few mins. then cut out. it take ages to turn over some/most time with no luck?.the car will start will a pull start. then runs as if on 3 cyl. the engine only jumps into life at around 4k were it seems to run on 4cyl after running the plugs are soaken wet in fuel. why? i have gone as far as i can and now need some pro advice??? its had x4 injectors x4 new plugs/leads meetering head blown out and cleaned.
  13. hi guys and gals. in need of some major help. i am tryuing to bring a corrado back to life its a 9a 2.0 16v 92/93.brought for a massive £100. because of these problems. it had been driven through a big puddle and water had got it in to the air inlet i have tanken the meetering head of and cleaned it out and the fuel lines going in to the head. i brought 4 new injectors as the others were dead.. after doing so the car started then cut out again. will start with a tow!!!! but will not start on the key. also only sounds like it is only running on 4 cyl over 4k on tickover very lumpy. im sure this is a easy one for you, any help would be greatfull thanks :lol: :lol:
