  1. Yeah thanks guys My MK2 has a simple cable operated clutch system - I was wondering if the complicated hydraulic one could be bypassed - obviously as has previously been mentioned - people want all this fly by wire/easy to use stuff - hence the need for hydraulics - hence the increased possibility of things going wrong... Thanks anyway
  2. Hi all Is it possible to change the hydraulic clutch to good old simple cable change? Has anyone tried this ? Personally I can't see why VW would want to make it more complicated to fit a hydraulic clutch when the cable ones work well enough!! Cheers Marcus
  3. Can you put VR6 clocks in a 2.0L 16v - I mean I know they physically fit, but will they work ?? Cheers
  4. I need to take off the injectors in order to take off the bottom air intake manifold - how do the injectors come out and what do I need to do to ensure that everything runs smoothly? Cheers Marcus
  5. The trick is to get some leather feed and give your wheel a good going over about once a month. Your hands, the sun, the heater all dry out the leather and it just cracks - this can all be avoided by a £6 tub of leather feed...
  6. I've got a rohr pipe from a 16V Golf MK2 - I was thinking of sticking it on my 16V 2.0l The rohr has two 15mm outlets pipes at on the side and bottom - yet the standard black VW pipe has a single outlet half was across Am I missing something? Can I still use this rohr pipe despite it having an extra outlet? cheers
  7. Ahh so it is pretty easy then... there's no issues with gaskets on the manifolds ? I've got the Haynes for the GTi - I guess it's pretty much the same thing...cheers
  8. Cheers for the great info so far ... The rocker box is leaking oil down the side of the dizzy and I will need to change it - trouble is there's the manifolds and everything else to deal with.... how exactly does one get to expose the rocker cover to change the gasket? Thanks in advance...
  9. Hi Being used to a GOLF GTi MK2 - I'm having trouble accessing the air filter in my 16v C. It's got what looks like a fuel distributer system on top of it and it seems impossible to budge. Anyone got any ideas on how to gain access to the filter box to change the air filter? While you're here - I've also had trouble getting the rotor off the dizzy - are they usually hard to get off? cheers
  10. Hiya Someone has tried to change the dials on my 2L 16v 1995 to white ones - in doing this they have knocked off/damaged & lost the rev needle - so not only is there no rev reading the speed dial runs away with itself upon acceleration. Has anyone else had this problem and been able to fix it ? Are a new set of clocks in order? Anyone got any for sale around the 106K range? cheers
