  1. Sorted i think i had the pump sat facing the wrong way round and the float could not fully move . Thanks for eyeryones help and advice.
  2. Not too sure if its a 4 pin plug it should do.
  3. Thanks supercharged i will give it a try later.
  4. The clocks are VDO and i did replace the pump with one from a vr6 but the old pump was still working i just changed it to see if it made a difference to my gauge.
  5. I have just transplanted a MK3 golf one in the motors are different but the mechanisms and mounts are spot on and just fit straight on no messing. I just re-greased it all up before fitting and have had no probs as of yet.
  6. Do you have any ideas on a fix for this then can you just replace the sender.
  7. tell me about it i have heard it may be something to do with the fuel relay ??
  8. Can anyone out there HELP. I have a 91 G60 and when i bought it the fuel gauge was not working at all. I changed the fuel pump to see if there was a problem there and still no movement. I then aquired a set of clocks which were sold as "working" once i put these on there was some movement on the fuel needle hooray. Now no matter how much fuel i put in the gauge does not go above a quarter, any ideas anyone?? :confused4: :confused4:
  9. Yeah the passenger side mech is common to failing but you can NO longer get the parts from vw as they have dropped them as i recently found out so its a matter of finding used frames with the mechanisms intact and working then just transplanting the other parts off the old one. Hope this is some use to you.
  10. Sorry to hear it pal in the the right service to spread the word although im a bit of a distance from you but you never know good luck!!
