  1. maybe, its my brutal hands. I wonder if its been changed before and whoever replaced it decided to put some extra long bolts back in?
  2. I'm fairly certain its the 9A. thanks I'll get the haynes manual. I'll post resukts when it arrives!
  3. if anyone attempts to do this. you will be need to be double jointed. also you will have to remove the threaded bar AS WELL as the nuts that protrude into the engine bay, or as you 'give it a heave' you will snap some plastic on your air box and render it useless. so thanks for the writer of that guide, about as much use as a chocolate chisel.
  4. thanks, for the reply/ but could you tell me where to look under the bonnet?! im fairly competent with a spanner, but every car i've owned before has had a haynes manual so I could locate what i'm looking for! plus every other car i've had has been half the cc, so not much to narrow down under hood!!!! Any help would be appreciated.
  5. hi all. ive got a 1992 2.0l 16v, and i've just replaced the matrix, and everything was fine. in fact, the car was running as sweetly as ever. Then all of a sudden, on a drive, the revs dropped and there was no response from the throttle. the engine didnt cut out it just idled. when i pressed on the accelerator it just cycled from 1000 to 2000 revs and back again (even with pedal pressed right down). the only way to get it revving again was to stamp firmly and swiftly on the pedal quite brutally. It doesnt do it all the time, but I'm sure you can appreciate can be annoying, especially when ive got 60 miles of motorway to do on my commute! Any ideas on remedies/causes? (the engine has been running rich btw, but i dont know how to adjust it) thanks. matt
  6. HELP! My heating matrix is leaking, quite badly. Due to the lack of a haynes manual, and no mates with a corrado! I dont know what it is, or what it loooks like, or how to change it (looking at the net, it says that the dash has to come out, which isn't too much of a problem for me). Question is, has anyone changed a matrix before on here, and if so, I would really appreciate a bit of guidance in locating it, and how to change it. thanks
  7. I am after a bit of advice. I've just bought a 1992 2.0 16V, and it has many issues! the one that is causing me the most concern is a problem with the fuel gauge. It gets more full when i accelerate, and empty when I brake! I have a feeling the sender will need adjusting/replacing. Question is, how do I do it? I don't know where it is, or how to get to it. Any advice would be appreciated.
