yay..got it started, after much faffing this evening ive got it started, looks like its turned out to be a very tempramental relay/fuseboard, basically i swapped relays from out of my mk2 scirocco oddly to not seem to do anything, then when i put originals back in it fired up :) so from tomorrow/weekend i think i shall be checking everywire and swapping out relays for new ones. again thank you for the advice :)

im told the battery is ok - had it tested after been on charge,its also bigger than whats required and the ignition switch i changed after i got the starting problem from gsf thinking it was that. im going to try the jump leads tonight after work and hope its the main leads ;)

i think as a matter of course now i am going to replace all the main heavy battery/alternator cables as they look all original and see what happens from there. thank you for the advice, and i will keep you posted.

i shall try checking over the wires again, i just find it odd that its been perfectly fine, then after been off 10mins after a 20min run just wont have it :s i assumed in us trying to jump start it though it would rule out the battery been duff :s ive also tried starting it with the alternator completly disconnected..

right, hoping somebody can give me some new ideas, went to my house from my dads to pick up some tools, everything ok, stopped to pick up tools, got back in the car to get going back, tried starting and just got clicking from the starter. so over the last 2 days ive changed the starter, put a new ignition switch on, checked imobiliser, fuel pump primes and still all i get is clicking and the faintest of turns from the engine, when i say faint you can just see the alternator turn slightly. when i originally had the issue sunday night after excessive tries turnin, well clicking i got smoke from the column area. have now completely removed all the cowlings and checked over wiring and cleaned all the stalks up. has anybody any ideas as to why im only getting clicking and no full on turning of the engine??? we even tried jump starting and still only got clicking..

yes, it will be me you've seen no doubt, my dad works in the motorspares at mosbrough so im there regular and i work in sheffield, mowbray st. to be exact. my nugget is my daily/only driver and i agree, its alot rough around the edges but it gets me to work and back :) i keep looking to see whats around but i dont have a massive budget to spend unfortuantely so compromise is required :s

so i noticed my front tyres were shot over xmas and had to temporarily fix by putting on my wip's mk2 scirocco boots..lol..

just got a better look at the car this evening, seems all may not b lost, the sunroof ive managed to get open and closed with a bit of jiggery pokery, looks llike the inner cloth part has come away from the exterior causing it to jam rather than the dents in the roof. so looks like im guna just need a new bonnet/hinges and windscreen to get it road worthy again :D the dents will just have to wait a bit, there not half as bad as orginally thought. thanks for your advice people, once it is road worthy at least then i can drive it to the bodyshop for repairs, maybe even a respray next year :D :D

ye im most miffd about, shame as i was just starting to get n top with all the niggles the lil nugget had, ahwell i did need an excuse to go buy a vr/g60 ..lol

good evening all, to put the end to my bad weekend, im after your opinions please. been doing some work for a friend this afternoon and on the way home the bonnet has come detached, flown up on the hinges, smashed in to the windscreen, broke the hinges on the bonnet and dented the roof. now the sunroof doesnt open on tilt correctly or slide at all. i fear this is going to be as good as a write off, anybody got any opinions on wether i could salvage my rado at all :s i dont have much to go on as it only happend an hour or so ago and the light to see is not good to know how bad it really is :(

afternoon all, firstly sorry if im posting in the wrong place, not to sure where best to ask... i need to buy a new manifold for my 1.816v kr rado, im looking for a stainless one as the current standard one now seems to have a huge crack in it :s, im running a 2.5inch bore jetex cat back system, can anyone please suggest where i could get one as i seem to be struggling to find one thanks simon
