2.0 16v | Red | Leamington Spa Price: £1500 Description: Hi Guys (and gals), Have found a BMW I really wanna buy! I bought the Rado in 2009 and have had a lot of fun, proud moments, still love it to pieces hence the price. I know it's old and has done a few miles but there's a lot of life in it still and the bodywork is awesome. The red had turned to pink and I had a detailer give her a once over last summer - the photos were taken right after this was done (August 2012). I know there are other Corrado's around at a lower price but this is rust free, both underneath and the bodywork. And apart from the wheels it's standard. Since I took ownership there's been a bit of work (to be expected with a 21 year old) ;) I'll keep adding to this list as I look through receipts. Mot till August 2013. It's a crossover car as well, I haven't seen another like this... Late exterior but early interior. Cambelt Top Mounts and bearings Front Engine Mount Bushes, bearings, dampers Usual things like Plugs, HT leads etc Front discs and pads Just done Driveshaft and CV joint. Radiator top house Waterpump housing 162k Miles Powerflow exhaust system Laserline central locking and immobilisor 3 new tyres BBS 17inch Alloys Pretty much everything else is standard There's a before and after photo below (machine polish) ... awesome!!!

Cheers dude but mine's a late exterior. ---------- Post added at 9:52 AM ---------- Previous post was at 9:50 AM ---------- It's my passenger side, think I'm leaning towards new headlights rather than replacing just the glass. My reflectors are tosh so figure it's a good chance to find some non-yellow reflectors!
-
Hmmm, let me see if I can dislodge the broken glass and figure this out!
-
Hi billcor! I've just seen your post but yeah!!! That's the one! Can not believe the difference, the best £100 I ever spent.
-
let me try find your ad again dood. you not have any other takers yet?!

Hi guys, a rock's smashed my headlight on a motorway and now I need some new ones! -Bulb's still fine but the glass has fallen off... I presume I need to buy a new set, and asap!!! Would appreciate any help as I currently cant drive in the dark! Paul

Hi Guys, Been a long while since I've been on here but I've started to plough some cash into my 2l 16v, just about to get it machine polished and wondered if anyone can direct me to some before and after shots of work they've done/had done/seen ... it's a red/pink '92! Cheers! Paul

I sorted the lumpy running and poor starting issue (after left standing for a while) - just the fuel filter. God knows how old it was, but replaced and sorted. Cheers!
-
My splutter problem was fixed with a new Lambda, and my starting problem's fixed with a fuel filter... sorted! Thanks to all who suggested!

16v running issues not wanting to rev or drive!

Possibly fuel filter? - I had starting/driving (splutter) problems if I left her standing for a while... changed the fuel filter and the problems disappeared. - take a look underneath and you can probably hazard a guess as to how old this part actually is. If it's rusty (like mine was) - change it! -
Let me know if the Lambda's at fault! I defo flooded the engine last time I had the starting problem, which to me say's that fuel is getting through ... do you still think the fuel pump could be the source? - Someone else on here asked about the fuel filter too, though mine's pretty old, I'm not sure how this could effect starting after sitting for a while?
-
2l 16v wont start after sitting for a few days!?

A follow up for anyone interested, - and in the hope someone can help me learn in the process! I Changed the spark plugs at the weekend (1st time)... in prep for leaving the car standing for a week, next week (in the hope that this'll give me a stronger spark and the bugger will start when i get back to the airport!) - I've got to say, she runs much better now, feels a lot smoother in low revs, more pull on acceleration (though every time I put my foot down I think this anyway, always surprises me!) and I think the MPG's up too (what do you guys reckon, is this possible, or am I talking rubbish?) The characteristics on starting have changed though, she still starts first time, but idles rough and revs jump up and down for 20 seconds or so (when cold - otherwise she's fine and idles smooth from the off)... any ideas what this would suggest? Ta! -
Haha, imagineering at work there Boost Monkey?! Think I'll try the paint thing first, see if that helps!

I know this topic's discussed in older posts, I just wondered if anything new had come up, stupid question really... Chrome paint's surely got to be an improvement on my current situation! Cheers Carrots
