Dave, no worries about the sunroof and again im glad the car is ok. I have had quite a major change of plan and now and not going abroad, well, not for a little while anyway as i have taken a job in canary wharf as i couldnt turn down the opportunity. So as im still in blighty i think corrado number 6 is on the cards! may go for a storm this time 8) . Best to the family, Andi

Hey guys. First off all dave im glad the car is running fine. Now, dghodges, i did solve it and based on what you have said i think i may know the problem. One the engine side of the airbox there is a small black box attached to the side of it with a plug attached to it on the rear, and for the life of me at the moment i cant remember what it is called. This may be the cause of your problems, easy way to check if i remember right is when the engine starts going ballastic un plug the plug from the back of this little black box, the engine "should" then return to normal, but please gat an auto sparky to confirm this fault as that little box cost me nearly £200 from Germany. also, if you do change it it has high pressure fuel in it so dont let it squirt you in the eyeball as i did and remember to change the green rubber gromets thats it is supplied with. Hope this helps. Andi

But if i disconnect the actuator (when cold) the car will start, she does not like it very much but will start. when up to normal temps, if i kill the engine and restart, same problem. so it happens regardless of if the engine is hot or cold.

right! think i solved it. i got the the car running but within a few seconds of starting, it would run super weak and start backfiring from the front end!. as i changed the acuactor last time the car was playing up, i disconnected it and then ran fine??, so, im assuming a fault with the signal from the lamba as,dispite changing this just before xmas, when ecu and actuator changed i cant think of anything else??? andy ideas? 0000, and i tried another acuator and ecu on the car, but same symptoms

Hey all. help needed badly with my 2l 16v! Yesterday there was loads of water on the road. so i went through slowly, in the middle, with revs up, all was fine, drove at speed down the motorway for 40 miles. car running perfect. Stopped for 5 hours during work. Then car was hard to start. Thought it was damp, it started, i drove (hard) for about 30 mins to dry her out. Now DEAD  wont start. when i turn the key, and pump the pedal, there is a swith on top of the engine which i think the throttle cable is connected to, it open full and the car feels like it should catch but wont???? Any ideas? A few months ago, i had major problems and i had a number of things wrong. i changed ECU, lamda, plugs, and module on the metering head which cost like 150 quid alone, as well as some sort of plug at the bottom of the engine was knackered

When mine was running really slow i checked everything and found fuel pressure was down. After hundreds of pounds i found that a 20p piece of fuel pipe in the tank had split on the inside!! Easy to change and cheap, might be worth a shot anyway considering the age of these fuel pipes now, especially with a high pressure system. Hope you get it sorted Andi

suspect fuel pump 2.0 16v - what are the symptoms?

Just a thought, the same thing happened on the wifes polo, i changed the fuel relay and fuel filter, worked fine then. im not technical but it might be worth a shot. -
cheers adam. at this point fella i will try anything i can. thanks for the post
-
thanks. i will get on to that in the morning. the joys of corrado ownership eh

no guys. i have a decat pipe on it. when i got it the cat and the rest of the exhaust was not in the best shape so i changed the lot. it has been perfect for nine months or so. its really confusing. i disconnected the temp switch and it ran much better (not right) so i cot a switch from vw, changed it, but still as bad.
-
changed all of the above then . and nothing??? still wont run. any ideas??
-
