car has been working but the problem happened again, was driving and got pulled by the police, once I sat back in my car to drive away it didn't start so had to get towed home. I have tried a different ecu as my diagnostic scanner isn't connecting (link error) but even with the new ecu it turns over but wont fire, any other suggestions before I smash it up with a sledge hammer and burn it? lol
-
just checked all wiring. WHAT A MISSION!! all taped back up but couldn't find any problems with wiring.. any ideas?
-
yes I did check but im going to have a deeper look as it was raining yesterday. drove it today and I could hear the stage 3 fan kick in at 100degrees. I swear a ghost lives under my bonnet lol
-
Also looked at the cooling guide and checked the fans by bridging the rad switch terminals with the common terminal but no joy, then to check stage 3 I bridged the terminals of the black sender on the thermostat housing and the stage 3 worked. I'm so confused right now

Ok I got another module off a mk3 vr6 plugged in and went for a long drive, still blowing the 30amp fuse 19. Fans not kicking in either. Really stressing now as the last thing I want is overheating. Also forgot to mention is few months ago the battery was catching the fan and burst battery acid all over the bay, since then the fan was on from start up until I parked it up just before the immobiliser problems
-
ok I have jjust removed the fan control module (black rectangular box next to expansion tank) and it rattles like there are a few things loose inside... also does anyone know how to wire up the fan to a switch on the dash? I have done a search but cant find a guide that tells you how its done.
-
okay checked all wiring and the car is now running (SO HAPPY) BUT... fuse 19 keeps blowing the 30 amp one for the rad fans, any ideas on this one? dvla should have corrados as tax exempt as every time you want to drive it something goes wrong the corrado wants to slap you in the face and say leave me alone lol
-
ok sounds like it could be, can anyone shed any light on this?

Hi all, im getting very stressed now as my corrado VR6 (1995)is starting then cutting out its intermittent. 1. I thought it was immobiliser so I wd40'd the 3 pin connector behind dash (transponder box connector)then drove for a day. 2. problem happened again so took all dash undertrays and say a bodged up alarm so had someone out to remove it. started and drove fine for 2 days. 3. problem happened again. so I ordered a new ecu relay (109) but its still not starting fault code is saying engine start blocked by immobiliser. any ideas? as im off road AGAIN and feel like setting the car on fire lol.

I think im jinxed :-( fitted new rad... all good. Borrowed my mates battery which was a bit too big for the battery tray so it somehow started rubbing against my fan and burst battery acid all over my engine and bay.. polished manifold looks like crap now :-( now my stage 3 fan is constantly on as soon as the key is in the ignition. rubber of hy leads have been eaten up and has melted and deformed plastic covers, also paint has been stripped under bonnet and new shiny rad looks foooooked not to mention the fan cowling which I sanded down and painted in satin black. don't know what TO DO... I mixed baking soda with water and washed the whole bay... any ideas what I should be doing??

cant seem to find it on there, just in a hurry to get back on road as courtesy car goes back to insurance tomorrow.

my rad came today, excited to fit it on the weekend, does anyone know the part number for the low temp fan switch? mine has 3 pins in a triangle layout and the casing is square with rounded corners.did have a look at the vr6 cooling guide but the part number is for early type with 3 pins in a row.

ok guys adrad hella radiator ordered £126 delivered. Theres an oil cooler kit on ebay by seller toyosports £100.. any good? Also anything else I should be doing? any source for a set of red ht leads as the ones from ecs are a bit too pricey?
-
hi guys quick update, replaced the oil pressure switch thingy on the oil cooler, that has cured the oil leak. I did a coolant flush but couldn't get to anything without taking off the slam panel and front bumper. Any way flushed the coolant and saw that there was a lot of buildup in the actual radiator so now my questions are: 1) "WHAT IS THE BEST RADIATOR TO GO FOR?" 2) "IS IT WORT UPGRADDING?" Whilst running the car at idle to do the coolant flush I investigated the misfire and saw that 2 oh my ht leads leads were arcing (even though they were brand new and fitted about 3 weeks before I parked it up)now question 3: 3) "WHICH HT LEADS AS I WANT RED ONES (someone once told me a few years back that mk4 red leads were the ones to go for and the bonus about them is they have rubber loops that are used to pull for removal) 4) "ANY IDEA WHICH LEADS THEY ARE? PART NUMBER ETC.." #have seen these - http://www.ecstuning.com/Volkswagen-Jetta_IV--VR6_12v/ES248981/ is there a uk supplier? 5) "LOWER TEMP FAN SWITCH - MINE HAS 3 PIN SQUARE WITH ROUNDED CORNERS TYPE PLUG (THE PINS ARE IN A TRIANGLE FORMATION) any idea on part number for a lower temp one?" thanks once again guys.

Will do that, thanks. Also i forgot to mention that when i start the car it switches off immediately and does this 2-3 times in a row before it fires up and stays on
