Can the clutch be bled?

I"m reasonably sure that I need to bleed the clutch on my newly purchased SLC. The previous owner replaced clutch, throwout bearing, flywheel, slave cylinder, but it's still a little clunky going into gear;2nd and 5th can be tricky to find. How would one go about getting rid of all those "tiny bubbles"?

Hello! I'm a long-time Passatworld member, and I just bought a 1992 SLC with 130,000 miles. It needs some TLC, but I'm sure it's going to be awesome. I've owned 1 Mk2 Jetta, 2 Mk3 Jettas, a Mk3 GTI, a New Beetle, and a 2000 Passat, so this isn't my first trip around the block with Volkswagens. Hope to learn a lot and maybe ahare some of what I've learned.
