i have a 1.8 16v and do a lot of motorway, plus a fairly substancial anount of urban. Currently get about average 32mpg, on a good run i have had 40-41mpg but i didn't have a lead foot that day. 0X

i have bought a golf 2 rack (recon oem rack) just need to know if the difference is the tie rods. I would never fit a second hand rack.

i have a milltec zaust fitted to my 16v and its sweet, quiet, its a rear oval so looks standard. And if i remember correctly was 360 +vat fitted at AMD When i priced up standard exhaust i wouldn't have got much change from £500. So all in all im very happy with it. Didnt notice any improvement in performance, but didnt really expect to as that plus good air filter will struggle to give you anymore than 3bhp anyway - fact (dont believe the hype)

Can anyone shead some light on this, i have been informed by euro car parts that the racks are the same for my 16v as golf 2, just tie rods are different. But when i look for the tie rods in euro and g&s the list the same as golf 2. By rack is buggered and im not paying vw the £712 + vat. Im at the stage where fittment is iminant. Can anyone shead some light before i remove the rack? :shock: :?:
