davebirl 0 Posted April 18, 2006 Hey Chris, the VDO sender you have from Merlin should have 1 contact which is the 10 bar sender and the second one should be a lower pressure warning sender. Can you take a picture and post it up for us to see? I reckon there shoul dbe something stamped on the sender to tell them apart, anyways, if you try it out it should only work one way, ie the pressure gauge won't read right if you connect it to the low pressure warning terminal. Christoph 0 Posted April 19, 2006 Hi Dave, thanks for the help. So I've swapped the single pole VW sender for the VDO sender and through trial and error, I've got it sorted. The gauges work great during the day, but I have one last problem to overcome... when I switch the lights on, the lights behind the guages come on, but the guages themselves drop to zero... Any ideas what I've done wrong? Cheers Chris
davebirl 0 Posted April 19, 2006 bad earth maybe? do both the oil and volt gauge drop to Zero?
Christoph 0 Posted April 19, 2006 Yeah, both gauges drop to zero as soon as I turn the lights on. I thought about a bad earth, but I wondered if the gauges would work at all with a bad earth. I'll try using a different earth, and see if that makes a difference. Cheers Chris
