Boarder 0 Posted June 17, 2003 Servicing me 16v on Sat. I have had the ABS warning light stay on for a week or so now. The brakes work but no ABS. I am goin to strip the brakes to see if I can find anything wrong. Has anyone else had this ? to help me know what to look for.
Joe M 0 Posted June 17, 2003 Clean all the crap of the toothed rings and sensors, spray some wd40 on the plugs that go into the front and side of the abs unit, if this doesnt help then its probably diagnostic time.
2cc 0 Posted June 17, 2003 ABS on a 16V? Was it fitted on later models? Anyway, plenty of threads here on this, but try what Joe suggests, if no joy its more than likely a front sensor failed.

Rory 0 Posted June 21, 2003 I had a faulty relay which disabled the ABS and illuminated the light. Not only that it disabled the cooling fan as well!!!!!!!!!! £40 diagnostic by an auto electrician and was all sorted
