g60 almost chokes when driven from cold

just latley ive noticed my g60 seems rather rich when driven from cold, like while i gently drive through the estate you can hear the "chug chug" sound like when a carb car has the choke out too far

 

it will also kick out black smoke if i boot it a bit when cold

 

anything i can do? or is it the chip c/o pot is about 600
